Did you know that a nice burial in California costs about 18K the property (depending on how cheap or expensive you chose) and the actual funeral itself. Most people are not prepared or do not buy lots in advance. Have you gone broke paying for your loved one to rest?

a very interesting social subject -- and the question is hidden in it. thanks. i guess like medical insurance, this type of calamity should be taken care of while "live". although it is not. people do not believe that "destiny is here and the end whether or not we want or wish it --sooner or later will arrive" --yes, it is very expensive because of social customs -- unfortunately for you and us i find no real solution. but i shall keep in mind. thanks for raising the issue.

Fortunately, my grandparents paid for my mom's funeral, otherwise my sisters & I would have gone broke.
It really is a good idea to do a pre-planning funeral payment plan. That way, the rates are locked in, and if you die before paying it all off, the rest of the amount is covered by the funeral home.

NO because everyone in my generation is still alive and the previous generation was all prepaid.

i did hear a joke about someone who went broke.

A husband put aside $30,000 for his final expenses. After the funeral his widow was standing with her best friend and confided to her that she had spent all the money her husband had put aside.

Her friend said "How did you spend so much?"

The widow answered, "Well I spent about $5000 for the church, the wake, the minister, and the plot. Then I spent another $25000 on a memorial stone."

The friend said "Wow that must have been some memorial stone. How big was it?"

The widow said "Oh, about four and a half carats."

yes, and it is ridiculous how much they charge for funerals, its the biggest scam job in the world, and then they have the nerve to upsell to the more expensive coffin etc.

I buried my mother and dad many years ago and they had everything paid for in advance. It is wise to plan ahead.
