Limited Registration means that the dog is registered, but no litters produced by that dog are eligible for registration. It is requested for a dog when the application for individual registration is submitted by the owner of the litter at birth.
This limitation continues regardless of any change of ownership, unless the owner of the litter at birth applies to AKC for removal of the limitation by filing an Application to Revoke Limited Status.
Limited Registration helps breeders protect their breeding programs. If breeders do not want puppies used for breeding purposes, they request the Limited Registration option.
A dog registered with an AKC Limited Registration is ineligible to be entered in a breed competition in a licensed or member dog show. It is eligible, however, to be entered in any other licensed or member event. These events include: Obedience, Tracking, Field Trials, Hunting Tests, Herding, Lure Coursing, Agility and Earthdog.
So enjoy your dog for the pet he is, and participate in any of the events he is eligible for and will enjoy. If you were concerned about breeding, this is something you would have discussed with the seller. If you are convinced that your dog is of exceptional quality and would make a genuine contribution to improve the breed, contact the seller and have them assess the dog. If they agree, you can work together to remove the restriction.

I'm looking at a pup I want to breed with akc papers will I be able to register her pups? Only if the new dog you buy is sold to you w/o any limited registration on breeding. Obviously, your first dog was limited. She was NOT considered good enough quality to be bred, by her breeder. Are you even aware of why that was? If you do not know how to evaluate a dog, there is no way to know (if you buy a puppy) whether it will turn out good enough to be breeding quality (be a good example of the breed standard) have good health AND a good temperament. Sounds like you would have bred the prior female regardless of any of that, which indicates you are probably a BYB.

Usually when you get a puppy that has LIMITED AKC paper it means that you do not have breeding rights. You will not be able to breed the puppy and sell her or his pups for as much as a puppy that had full AKC papers because limited reg AKC wont show blood lines of her SIR and DAM. hope this helped

Limited registration means that you cannot register the puppies that are from your dog, so you shouldn't breed it. It also means that you cannot compete in AKC conformation events, but you can compete in most other events (like agility and obedience).

Puppies from any litters produced from your dog cannot be registered through the AKC.

The dog was sold to you as a family pet. Any offspring the puppy were to have if not neutered could not be registered.

It means that if he is use for breeding, the puppies cannot be registered.
The breeder sold him to you as a pet only dog.

You need to neuter him. The limited registration is in hopes that you will fix your pet. It means if your dog is bred the pups can't be registered.

I am suprised they didn't attach a neuter contract.
Well it just means a better, longer, healthier life for your dog.
