Is your shoulder getting any pain too? is the shoulder in pain when you move it? when you say shoulder blade...is it on top or on the side..just near the spine? is hard to tell when one cant see you or feel for the spasm. At times spasm can give you so much pain that you can hardly breath, or even a trigger point can do that...and trigger points travel...or radiate i should say.
Try if you can to stretch out that muscle in your back...usually is the Rhomboid...near the scapula...or what you call the shoulder blade. Doing some stretches might help you.
Good luck and feel better...and if it persist...see a Dr.
Heres a pic of where your rhomboids would be...is this where the pain is...

I wish I had this 2 years ago when I damaged my rotator cuff while showing off. This is very detailed and really gives you the techniques you need to sort out your own shoulder issues and a lot more info such as preventing further injuries. If you have a shoulder keeping you awake at night you'll know it's no laughing matter.

i get that exact pain sometimes when i try to do too many push-ups. did u have a previous sholder injury? cause that is what caused mine. mayb ur working on it too hard, i would try stretching it out, applying heat to it and taking some time off that shoulder.
