Have you ever tried to do something nice for someone and they make it so difficult that by the time you do it you don't want to anymore...well I offered to take my mother who is 63 on afternoon or evening girls night out her choice...my treat..she made it sooooo complicated and had know idea as to what to do and said I should just choose but everything I suggested was not a good idea...finally at the end of the conversation she said what she really wanted to do was the first thing I suggested but when I suggested it she said she didn't want to do it...2 hours later......ugggg frustrated

LOL She was probably frustrated too. It sounds like you need to find a different approach to being nice to your mom. Something not so open-ended. You know her, I don't.

Why not just enjoy the day together and not plan it to death, mom isnt going to be around forever make it a nice day for you both,preferably something you both can enjoy.
