I have them sometimes. You just gotta get used to them, almost like saying hey I'm still hear nothing bad has happened yet when having these panic attacks. I'm getting used to it and they go away faster now cause i am out smarting them, you gotta relax and think well whats the worst that can happen I haven't died yet. If your in a situation where people around and you panic just think about how its all in your head. Talk to one person and focus on that instead of all the people looking at you. You can beat this over time.

It all depends. I use to get them and I still do although not as frequent. I drink plenty of water and exercise on a regular basis and that way my panic attacks have diminished tremendously. For some, they need the extra help like Xanax.I use to take Xanax but you have to be careful because it can become addictive. What ever you do, do not take Paxil. It gives you a strange feeling about things and it is hard to get off it. It took me 3 horrible months to wean myself of it. I usually ask for the smallest doses of Xanax when I have to fly because I am petrified of flying. So, if you know you will be under a stressful situation, ask your doctor way ahead of time for medication. Xanax gets rid of the panic like right away.

I've learned to breathe mine away. It helps if someone else is there to count for you, but you can do it yourself
Say, very slowly, one, breathe, two, breathe, three breathe and so on. This helps you regulate your breathing and so calms you down enough to be in control. I always find I'm exhausted after an attack and a glass of fresh orange and a few minutes to compose yourself works well
A Doctor once told me that its impossible to pass out completely through a panic attack,as once you begin to loose consciousness you relax and therefor breathe normally again.
Also, with the counting, imagine inflating a balloon in your tummy every time you breathe in, then when you breathe out, imagine it going down again. This helps you focus on your breathing and calms you too
Good luck xxx

until you can get in to see your doctor, you can do a couple of things for yourself. take a walk. if you can't do that (children, etc) go sit in the backyard for a few minutes, take some deep breaths and force yourself to calm down. make an appointment with a therapist. you need to get to the bottom of what the cause is of your panic attacks. sure... your doctor can and probably will give you medication to help you. but meds are not the answer to your problem. they can help until you get the real issue resolved.

The only way is to face your fear - whaterver is causing your attacks. Start out small and build up until you've faced it. If it's a big issue you can seek a mental health professional who can help you.
