Here is a clip of Rev. Kenneth Hagin and Rev. Ken Copeland (two Pentecostal ministers who specialize in speaking in tongues). See if you can find an interpreter in this crowd.

27 If anyone speaks in a tongue, two—or at the most three—should speak, one at a time, and someone must interpret.
28 If there is no interpreter, the speaker should keep quiet in the church and speak to himself and God.

1 Cor. 14:5 Note that "speaking in tongues" in the New Testament simply meant that they could speak in languages they had never studied ... not the "glossolalia" or non-sense that is passed off as speaking in tongues today. See Acts 2:1-8 where the apostles received this gift (among all the others) and in verse 8 the Jews who were there from every nation under heaven "heard them speak in his own tongue". The reason for the gift being obvious ... so that they could carry the gospel to the ends of the earth in one generation.

Its true that some people can interpret and some cant. I dont know if you HAVE to have it interpreted. Ive spoken in tongues b4 and i didnt ask for any one to interpret and no one offered. But being filled with the Holy Spirit is the best/loving/caring feeling in the world. Congrats if you have been filled.

In 1 Corinthians chapters 12-14, where Paul discusses miraculous gifts, he comments that, “Now, brothers, if I come to you and speak in tongues, what good will I be to you, unless I bring you some revelation or knowledge or prophecy or word of instruction?" (1 Corinthians 14:6). According to the Apostle Paul, and in agreement with the tongues described in Acts, speaking in tongues is valuable to the one hearing God’s message in his/her own language, but it is useless to everyone else – unless it is interpreted / translated.

You only need an interpreter if you are giving a message. You have your prayer language, that is between you and God.Read 1 Corinthians 12,13,14.Remember man has no knowledge of this gift. The Holy Ghost must quicken it to a person.Study the gifts, pray for wisdom.Seek prophecy.Above all pray for love.
GOD Bless.

1 Corinthians14.-Remember that tongues is languages.Either you, if speaking in a tongue ,will interpret or someone else will.To speak in a tongue that no one understands whats being said would not edify anyone. In most churches when you hear stammering lips, people think this is a tongue and that is what speaking in tongues means.Stammering lips is the filling up of the Holy Ghost. This isn`t a tongue or if it is its a Holy One not understood by anyone but God.

I'm not sure where, but there is something about there should be a interpreter in a large group but not if you are alone. I have done it twice. First time I was with my grandma, second time I was alone. Both times I was kind of taken back, but it still flowed.
