Sorry you're in so much pain but remember, not everyone's mouth is the same nor are their pain levels. You may have needed more tightening at first compared to your brother so.......go to the drugstore and get AMBESOL it is in the baby section and it is used for teething babies- you rub it on the gums that are throbbing and that will relieve the pain. Also you should take tylenol every couple of hours for pain relief or advil- and did your doc give you a prescription for pain killers? If not, if you are still in a lot of pain tomorrow, call him and he will have to call in some toradol or tylenol with codeine to help dull the pain--- after about 4 days the pain should subside----good luck

No, nothing's wrong with you, man. This is kinda natural when you first get braces. I remember when I first got 'em. It wasn't too fun at first, but I eventually got over it. The way I see it, your teeth are slowly moving into a spot that the braces are directing it to. Moving from a place it's gotten use to for a while is kinda painful. If you start too feel a lot of pain when you eat something or just in general, take some hot salt water and swish it through your mouth and gums. Trust me, it works.
Hope this answers your question.

No, the pain is normal, your braces are shifting your teeth. Take some advil. Your ortho should have told you!! Mine even gave me a prescription for some stronger ibuprophen. You could call tomorrow and ask about that. Some regular advil should help for tonight though. Check with your parents first though ok?

You are normal!

No, just take some advil, keep doing so for a few days then you'll be fine (ive have braces twice). When you have the wire tightened in the future you'll want to take advil aswell (maybe even take it before you go for your appt). And try to eat soft foods for a bit. GOOD LUCK!

Nope, nothing's wrong!! When I got braces, all I remember is pudding and ice cream for a week. Take some Advil or Tylenol and, pardon the pun, grin and bear it! It will get better and you will be left with a lovely smile!

your teeth are just getting used to the feeling, don't eat anything that is too hard. Or even there might be something stuck in your teeth or something, just look in the mirror and see if there's something in your braces or anything else. Hope the paine will be gone.

It is probably going to hurt for the first few days or so, but then it will go away. However, everytime you go in to have them retightened (probably once a month). It is going to hurt again for 2 or 3 days. There is not much you can do about it except eat soft food during those periods.

I had braces for 3 years and the best thing is Ibuprofen and semi-solid foods the first day after a check up.
