Having been in the Air Force an now being an Air Force spouse, I have to say that the AF is the way to go. I worked on an Army post and also on a Marine post. I think the benefits are the same either way you go but the quality of life is much better in the Air Force. Even other branches will say that. Air Force spouses are taken care of and the childcare in the Air Force is great!
First things first, take the ASVAB. That will really determine where you can go. The AF is harder to get into since you need higher scores but it's worth it. Other branches promote faster and don't make you test to become a sergeant, unlike the AF.
I also think the jobs are better in the AF. As a military police, you can expect to work long, hard hours in any branch. If you choose to do computers, COMM is a great field, especially in the military. I worked in COMM and I learned a lot. I know a lot of people that worked in comm for 4-8 years and got out making GOOD money.
As far as deployments go, the AF typically deploys for 4-6 months but has actually been moving towards 1 year deployments.
For honest answers, talk to people IN the military and not just recruiters. Their job is to tell you the GOOD about the military but you need to know the good, the bad, and the ugly. Just like any career, there is a downside but the benefits and pride of being in the military outweigh the risks anyday!

Having a new born baby, think long and hard before you sign anything.
If you are worried about Iraq, the Army almost always deploys to combat for a year, sometimes more, rarely less. The Air Force has shorter deployments, (usually 6 months from what I understand after talking to several Airmen) but they may get called back faster than Army Soliders.
Whatever you decide, talk to as many different recruiters as you can find. It is amazing how widely their contracts can vary, even if you talk to two recruiters within the same branch...
I know the Army has a program that will pay off student loans, I am sure other branches has similar programs though....

The Air Force may be downsizing, but they are still recruiting for all jobs, and many still have bonuses. All of your basic benefits are the same for all branches such as education, medical, life insurance, stuff like that to the best of my knowledge.
My guess is that the AF is the least deployable of the branches, so you'll have more time at home with your family. But you can always volunteer to leave if you want to go. The longest I was ever away was 5 months. That was before they set up their deployment rotations. The longest you should ever be away is 4 months, with a long break before you go back. And believe me, I know this from experience.
I would go Air Force, but I'll admit I am biased, because that's what I was in. I enjoyed it, and if I had to do it over again, I would have stayed in.

They are all about the same except in all, except the airforce, you will have long assignments out of the country and lots of time away from your family!
The Air Force has some of the best training and with a degree you may be able to apply for a commission!
All the services need the MP's, but I would rather break up an Airforce brawl than any of the other services. The Marines and most of the Army just don't care what happens in a brawl, and I have seen some good ones!

Wow! That is a tough question. It depends on you -- if you don't like ships then the Navy is not the way to go. If you are not in a hurry to go to Iraq, than the Army and Marine Corps may not be the best choices. Each service will require some degree of sacrifice. I loved my time in the Navy because I think I've visited a lot of places my friends in the Army have never seen -- in one four month cruise we visitied Australia, Hong Kong, Singapore, Guam, Japan. That was neat, but, being stuck on a ship at sea is not always fun. Talk to an officer recruiter since you have your degree, the pay for commissioned officers is better than enlisting, but there are more career fields for enlisted folks -- who are more worker bees, while officers are managers. Hope that helps!

No one can say which branch has the "best" benefits. There are incentives on each branch. Example, in the Navy we get sea pay, flight deck pay, etc. Those pays you cant get in the Army or Air Force, for obvious reasons. As far as jobs go, it depends. Most jobs are the same.

The Air Force is currently "downsizing". I would say stick with the Army. They just started a program where depends can use the GI bill as well.

Good question. Call a recruiter for each branch of the military, they will tell you, then compare. This way you will know exactly which is best for you.. Good Luck.

the army has the most variety of jobs and seems to offer the most benefits, but if you are into techincal stuff the the Air Force would be the way to go.
