Because Christians think that it's okay to bend the Bible's rules to their liking. They make the Bible adapt to their life instead of following it for what it really is.

Does anyone over the age of 5 really believe in Santa Claus? I don't think so. There is no need for stories in Heaven.

I don't know that I believe in Santa Claus. But he represents the spirit of giving. And that is what I do believe in. Told my children of him - the story of St. Nickolas. God does forgive us for our sins. As long as there is no worship of Santa Claus, I think that it's o.k. to say there is a Santa Claus for the children. You can also say that Santa Claus can represent God, in that He gave us His son, the three wise men, and the Shepperd's - peace and good will toward men.

Well I'm Hungarian, and in Hungary, December 6th is celebrated as Saint Nicholas Day. On December 6th, my parents always gave us stockings filled with goodies. St Nicholas is a patron saint of children. Somehow St Nick got intertwined with Christmas here in America. They are definitely separate in Hungary, yet both Christmas/Jesus birth and Santa Claus are believed or accepted.
According to wikipedia....
Today, Saint Nicholas is still celebrated as a great gift-giver in several Western European countries. According to one source, Medieval nuns used the night of December 6th to anonymously deposit baskets of food and clothes at the doorsteps of the needy. According to another source, On December 6th every sailor or ex-sailor of the Low Countries (which at that time was virtually all of the male population) would descend to the harbour towns to participate in a church celebration for their patron saint. On the way back they would stop at one of the various Nicholas fairs to buy some hard-to-come-by goods, gifts for their loved ones and invariably some little presents for their children. While the real gifts would only be presented at Christmas, the little presents for the children were given right away, courtesy of Saint Nicholas ... or Santa Claus... This, and also his miracle of him resurrecting the three butchered children, made Saint Nicholas a patron saint of children and later students as well.
Due to the modern association with Christmas, Saint Nicholas is a patron saint of Christmas

well once you are older i don't really think you believe so much in Santa Claus. just trying for the kids. but Santa did have something to do with it. i think now Jesus is being replaced with Santa. why? because children are starting to believe that Christmas is about presents and Santa Claus. when really we celebrate it because it was the birth of Jesus. i think a TRUE christian believes in Jesus on Christmas... and like actually thinks of this as jesus's birth instead of Santa. so i think when you become christian you don't think so much of Christmas as Santa.... you think of it as jesus's birth. its kinda hard to explain.

First of all, Santa Claus doesn't claim to be a god of any sort. He's just a fat dude that brings presents. He has nothing to do with christianity. It's also the only way to keep the masses interested in christmas. It has also morphed into a giant comsumer free-for-all, and the CEOs count on it to pay for their yachts.

The Bible also says a lot of other things that we ignore. Do you follow every single law in Leviticus? Santa evolved from St. Nicholas, a Russian saint, who gave gifts to children.

Most adults don't believe in Santa anyway, which leads me to ask why so many believe in God? And, BTW Santa isn't totally fiction. He's actually based on a real person, so it's not really a lie, is it?
