The answer to your question is; 1) It's not time for him to return to Earth, 2) Because he doesn't want everybody.
The first one comes through the understanding that God had a time to come to the Earth as Jesus, the Messiah. The evidence that he gave in Isaiah 61, and Luke 4 shows that He has separated the work he is to do with the work that he already has done. There will be a time for him to return to rule the world. His time had come to provide a way to salvation by being the sacrificial lamb, as it was in the Passover, but the manifestation of the Passover Lamb.
On the second point, God does not want everybody. 'Many are called, but few are chosen" was something that Jesus said. He also said, " None come save the Father draws him." That means that He chooses those he wants. He has always been that way. He continues to be the same way.
So people are in error when they say things like, "We are ALL God's children." Only those who respond to God, who are chosen by God, who remain in the trust of God, are God's children. The others are referred to in the Bible as the children of disobedience. You cannot read and understand the Bible with the understanding that it's the same for anyone, no matter what they believe. That's because it's simply not what you find in the Bible.
This is what was written to those who are called:
Hebrews 3:12 See to it, brothers, that none of you has a sinful, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God.
13 But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called Today, so that none of you may be hardened by sin's deceitfulness.
14 We have come to share in Christ if we hold firmly till the end the confidence we had at first.

You already answered your own question. God already appeared to mankind and displayed miracles beyond human comprehension. Did they believe Him then? No, they put Him to death on a cross at Calvary -though some did believe. After all of the miracles the Israelites witnessed God perform, did they believe? No, they rejected God and worshipped an idol. They doubted God's Word and His promises and never entered the Promised Land. The evidence is all around you in creation for God. For this reason all of mankind is "without excuse" -see Romans 1. There is tons and tons of evidence to support the Bible and its doctrines, including creation. The problem is that most won't even look at the evidence. They simply dismiss it all out of hand because they would rather fall for and believe The Lie -evolution. The reason for this is sin, especially foolish pride. And pride was the sin of Satan himself. I was going to put down the long list of accessible resources again, but what's the point? People like you won't look at it any way. If you want more information and are actually willing to at least consider the evidence then simply click on my name and email me and I will give you some resources. In closing let me say this; They could find Noah's ark on the top of Mt. Ararat, bring it down from the mountain, parade it on the main street of every city on Earth and people like you would still refuse to believe.

Interesting point. I've seen life from both sides. I used to be a Christian, but I feel better now. I'm now an Atheist. Has god or Jesus really appeared? I don't think so. Those stories in the Bible are just that, stories. A vast majority were written generations after the supposed fact. Are those stories accurate? Try this, get 10 friends together. Send nine out of the room. Tell the first a story. It doesn't have to be long and drawn out. Then get the second in and have the first tell that story. Continue that for all 10. You'll see that the last person telling the story tells one that has absolutely no resemblance to the one you told. Facts get skewed over retellings.

Christ had appeared and did return, but those who are spiritually blind can't see Him.
You talk like a rational being, while you expect Christ to appear to you as a miracle from the cloud! If Christ comes from the cloud, and He does not satisfy all other requirements for more miracles, people still doubt. At the crucifixion, many people ran away from Him, because He was killed easily and did not become a powerful King like David.
Now, who is greater king than Him on earth? And this occurs not because of the miracle of atomic bombs; it is because the miracle of His boundless love and His spiritually powerful command of "LOVE THY NEIGHBOUR". The language of LOVE is the softest and no weapons can be compared to it.
Any man who selflessly loves his neighbour like Christ will immediately see Christ and believes His mentioning about the One True God.

Jesus did appear, told mankind everything he needed to hear, did everything He needed to do to secure our salvation. God, in the form of Jesus, came here about 2000 years ago, people have been writing and talking about it ever since. There is no shortage of information about God, the commandments, creation, the way to salvation, etc..All one need do is try. Read, go to Church, talk to a minister, etc. Believing takes faith. Faith in God/Jesus. Jesus Himself came once, how many times is He supposed to come? Every 50 years? No. He did all He needed to do the first time. Now it's up to us accept it, to believe, and trust what He said and did. Again..it's called faith. To hear Him? Listen to those that preach and teach of Him. To HEAR Him? Ever hear thunder? A baby babble? A bird sing? The wind? Crickets on a warm summer night? Snow fall? Someone whisper "I love you" Maybe that's Him. God Bless....Hope this helps.

In 2 Corinthians 5:7, it says 'For we walk by faith; not by sight'. We believe through faith in God - not by our physical eyes. Atheists also DO see evidence all around them of God's existence - CREATION! All that we see around us was created by God, but they refuse to believe in God, so naturally, they refuse to believe in all that God has created, including the human race. Atheists don't even believe we were created by God, but it's because they are spiritually blind and thus, cannot understand what creation is. Jesus appeared to many non-believers in the NT (the four gospels, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John) and there were many that STILL didn't believe He's the Son of God, even after the miracles he performed. Jesus died on the cross and was resurrected. He reigns in heaven with His Father, God Almighty. The Holy Spirit dwells within the hearts of those that follow Him and obey His word. So again, it's by faith that we believe and confess Jesus Christ as the Son of God - not by what we see with our eyes.

Romans a million:19-20 For what could be commonplace approximately God is undeniable to them, because of the fact God has shown it to them. (20) For his invisible attributes, specifically, his everlasting ability and divine nature, have been for sure perceived, ever because of the fact the creation of the international, interior the flaws that have been made. so as that they are without excuse. Luke sixteen:31 He stated to him, 'in the event that they don't hear Moses and the Prophets, neither will they be confident if somebody might desire to upward push from the lifeless.'" a million Corinthians 2:14 The organic man or woman would not settle for the flaws of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him, and he's not in a position to comprehend them because of the fact they are spiritually discerned.

Sometimes He uses more drastic measures so you know without a doubt it's Him that put that brick wall up in front of you to get your attention. Most rebels are simply hard of hearing spiritually and blind as well. You ignore His voice long enough and it will go away permanently. I wouldn't want to take that chance. There's evidence all right. You should "see Him" as the light of truth and love reflected in every believer. You can't see wind either but nobody denies it's existence. Some are like Thomas and want to see Jesus in the flesh before they'll believe. We will not see Him until we have a new body likely. We believe although we haven't seen and His Word tells us and the Spirit bears witness of the truth as well. John 25 "The other disciples therefore said unto him, We have seen the LORD. But he said unto them, Except I shall see in his hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into his side, I will not believe.
26 And after eight days again his disciples were within, and Thomas with them: then came Jesus, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, Peace be unto you.
27 Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing.
28 And Thomas answered and said unto him, My LORD and my God.
29 Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.
30 And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book:
31 But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name."

You are God my dear Skeptic, just an incomplete God.
We all are born as an incomplete God with a nygra of power to be a complete God.
Just awake your soul, remove the dust of ignorance from it and try to see Godliness in you, in your family members , in your neighbours.
Behave with them in such a way , what you like to be behaved for yourself by others.
You will not like to misbehave or insult your fellow God.
Your behaviour to yourself and to others is your true religion and that is your Christianity , that your Hinduism , that is your true Islam, that is your Buddhism. In this way you will march on your journey to be a complete God.
Believe me you are an incomplete God and there is only need to polish yourself to be a complete God.
Don't see towards the blue sky. Only see inside you and your surroundings . Thats it.

God speaks to people all the time through others. Just like in the New Testament with the Rich man and Lazarus, saying "If they don't listen to Prophets and the word, They will not believe even if the dead returned to earth to instruct them." If God himself came down from heaven today, they will still deny him.
