I have drained my dvd player of life due to failed firmware flash.Is it beyond repair.Grateful if can help.?

If you can find an older firmware, flash it back. If not try the yamaha website to see if they have a new firmware. You must did something wrong because the flashing part is pretty easy. Do it again and follow the instruction carefully. It is doesn't work, i am afraid there's nothing you can do but get another player.
