you can multiply fractions by multiplying the top (numerators) and multiplying the bottom (demonimators). for example
1/4 x 2/3 = 2/12 = 1/6 ok?
but often, your teachers will want you to reduce the fractions as you multiply. for example
1/4 x 2/3 = 1/2 x 1/3 = 1/6 do you understand how I did that? i took 2 out of the bottom of the first fraction and the top of the second. in slow motion...
(1/4) x (2/3) = (1/2 x 1/2) x (2/1 x 1/3) = 1/2 x (1/2x2/1) x 1/3
= 1/2 x 1 x 1/3 = 1/2 x 1/3
ok?
for your equation,
7/12 x 18/35 = (7/1 x 1/2 x 1/2 x 1/3 ) x (3/1 x 2/1 x 3/5 x 1/7)
= (7/1 x 1/7) x (1/3 x 3/1) x (1/2 x 2/1) x 1/2 x 3/5 upon rearranging
= 1 x 1 x 1 x 1/2 x 3/5 = 3/10
follow this or not?
fyi (7/1 x 1/2 x 1/2 x 1/3) = (7x1x1x1) / (1x2x2x3) = 7/12
likewise (3/1 x 2/1 x 3/5 x 1/7) = (3x2x3x1) / (1x1x5x7) = 18/35

Just follow the following term to solve this types of problems...
BDMAD
B for Bracket
D for Division
M for Multiplication
A for Addition
D for Deduction
above this letters first solve the elements which are in a bracket, then go for the sign division (/) and so on.
In your problem 7/12x18/35
Check for B, there is no B. so skip it.
Check for D, there is two Ds. so solve it. 7/12 = 0.583333333
18/35 = 0.5142857142857
so 7/12x18/35 looks like 0.583333333 x 0.5142857142857
now check for M and there is only one M. so the results held
0.583333333 x 0.5142857142857 = 0.2999999999999999999999
which is equivalance to 0.3
so the final result is 3/10

When you multiply fractions you multiply the (top x top) and then put it over the (bottom x bottom). Sometimes it helps to simplify the fractions first. In this case, the 12 and 18 can both be reduced by dividing by 6. The 7 and 35 can be reduced by dividing by 7. You are then left with:
1/2 x 3/5 which becomes 1x3 on the top and 2 x 5 on the bottom or 3/10.

You can put them together with both numerators multiplied and both denominators multiplied.
You get (7 * 18) / (12*35). You can divide the top and bottom by 7.
Then you get 18/(12*5) = 18/60.
Dive both top and bottom by 6 and you get 3/10 so that is the final answer = 3/10

7/12 x 18/35
= 7/(2x6) x (3x6)/(5x7)
[cancel common factors in denominator and numerator]
= 3 / (2x5)
= 3/10 or 0.3 in decimal format
