In other words, can a Muslim reject part of Islam's traditional teachings as right for the time in which it happened but wrong for today? Can a Muslim reject the story below and still be considered a follower?

Prophet Mohammad's (peace be upon him) life was in danger since he received the revelations till the day he passed away. Even then he tried hard to make peace and was successful in uniting war torn Arabia. Your statement is utterly false.

Read the Koran and stop your nonsense. You will choke on a gnat and swallow a camel. Study all religions before you attack any of them. Look with a pure heart and you will find the truth. Then your spirit will not be subject to the criminal idiocy of divide and conquer.
