speak from the heart. how do you feel about her? her husband? their future? i can't believe you....take a shot before you go up there, and just tell them how you feel.

May the Luck of the Irish be with You! I have found a website with some old Irish Toasts, so all you have to do is pick one out - make cheat cards because they fairly well know or at least the first part is, so you don't want to mess them up.. Good Luck!!

"We grow up having an expectation of what our wedding will be like and who we'll marry, what the wedding night will bring and how blissful marriage itself will be, however reality starts to set in as soon as the planning begins and the deposits are made and things don't turn out how you imagined so many years ago, but sometimes that turns out to be a blessing in disguise, for to really appreciate your soulmate you have to take the bad with the good onlu to find out that real love is nothing like you imagined, it's a infinitly better, So I hope for your sake that today was nothing like you expected and you are surprised for the rest of your days together." This was on the spot, but it's a variation of what I said as the MOH at my best friend's wedding, soem details have been changed and it's coming from my lack=luster memory. the bride, MOB, aunts, and myself cried.

This one is not an original , but touching none the less.

Talk a bit about growing up together and what a lucky guy he is to be getting her.

End your speech with this bit of fun and love. Tell the happy couple that you know that many people tell them that this is the happiest day of their lives, but you hope that they look back on this day as the unhappiest day of their lives together. Pause a bit and then end with this . I hope each day of your lives together just gets better and better and each new day together becomes the happiest day of your lives.

"I love my sister, and I'm glad now to welcome you as my brother. And if you ever hurt my sister, I will kill you!"

Seriously, I'd put in something about how you love your sister, and you're glad to welcome him as your brother, and that you have great confidence in their being married.

I'd also say, "Many people say that their wedding day was the happiest day of their lives. I hope this is not your happiest day, but the beginning of many more happier days to come. I would also like everyone to note down this date in their calendars for the year 2031, because we'll all meet back here to celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary!"

If they're likely to have children, you can say something like, "I hope all your problems are little ones."

Do a little research on line and see what kind of best man toasts you can come up with.

you need to make it personal .. the best thing to do is lighten the mood by saying a funny story about the groom or something

no one else can write this speech for you
