am a 14 year old guy who is very religous?
I was first atheist then somehow found God. i belive that it was the coldness of knowing no God. I now go to church every week. And i have wanted to just sit in church once however i do not have the time. The preist told me that God may want me to do something for him. I now belive that the word of God is warped by man and am now looking for the truth from God. Not the imperfect man.
Is this normal for a 14 year old and what do you belive it means.

Faith is vitally important for 14 year olds. No doubt. But so is good grammar and proper articulation of what you're trying to say. I could hardly decifer what it was you were asking.

Nevertheless let me try to advise you a bit...

I'm glad you turned away from a life without God. God is real and you clearly understood that when you came back to Christ. Congratulations! As long as you go to church weekly I'm sure you dont' need to sit in church all day.

Maybe your priest is right. Maybe God does have a very special plan for you. What is it? Pray. Pray harder. Read your Bible. Pay attention to the world around you and I think it may become clearer. You want God's honest Truth? Look in the Bible. God's Word is God's Truth. I don't know what this "imperfect man" business is but you're right that God's Word can be warped by man. It kind of sounds like you're not happy with the Catholic Church though I really am not sure what you are trying to say. Say your prayers, talk to clergy, read your Bible and focus on sinless living and I think it will all work out.

The "Word of God" was warped by man. Many scribes were illiterate, and as such just copied the ancient manuscripts letter by letter. They would make mistakes. Also, they wrote in a form called "scriptum continum", which mean they used no spaces, capitals, or puncuations.

"godisnowhere" means totally different things to an atheist than to a theist.

"lastnightisawabundaceonthetable" is either normal or supernatural.

Once you got to scribes who could actually read, this became a problem. An even bigger issue is when they intentionally changed the bible. For example, the story of Jesus and the Adulteress never was in the bible.

And so forth and so on.

I can tell you facts and figures, but I can not tell you the truth from God. The only thing I can say is to love all, respect people for their differences, and trust your heart.

You need to question everything you have ever not questioned before, I was never truely religious, this is not to say I didnt try but the more I read from scripture the more I felt that it was made up.

I will tell you this the christain bible had no hand of god in its creation, perhaps that is a baised statement, but the contradictions that exist in the bible were made by man, I submit this:

If god made any holy scripture, and that scripture had flaws(like all books have), truely if it has any flaw in it how do you know any of the book is true? The word of God if it ever existed is long gone you will not find any word of god in a book and certainly not in the Christian bible, unless you enjoy all the flaws and falicys which reside in such a waste of paper. If you read the bible the whole bible and have open eyes and an open mind you will see what it truely is.....

actually god is known for speaking to you through others and its a great way to for him to talk to you. For example im 14 too and when i was 12 and went to youth group at church weekly one a guy from the church band had message for me. It was that i was supposed to remain pure and wait for a "pure man of God to fall in love with" then i figured he was crazy cuz i wasnt doing anything sexual at all. but this year ive had a few crushes on guys that i wonder about their faith so i have to make sure i stay pure. Basically yes this is normal for you do doubt in other people and this if good then if the devil will try to confuse you it will not bring you down but also remember like i said God does speak to Christians through other people and hes probably doing it to you. I believe that God may be calling to serve him in your own unique way so pray over and over and over...... sincerely to understand what God wants from you!!
- im so glad your a christian and God bless you!!!!

fairly of believing that God's word is warped. i might question the validity of the priest asserting something to you. i think of which you sound very standard for a 14 3 hundred and sixty 5 days previous. God desires to have an incredible relationship with you. The Bible is our handbook to that relationship. yet you will possibly be able to desire to have a Bible it incredibly is precise. The Message isn't. The King James version, New American everyday version, New worldwide version and others. Prayer is the style you talk to God, and he will answer your prayers. Pray until now you commence examining and additionally you will learn the certainty.

I'm a Catholic but I discovered God on my own. You dont need religion or church to know God. Religion is a learning tool we turn to to become closer to God.

BTW I know what you mean about the coldness. When I was in college I turned from God and it became a turbulent period for me. But in my late 20's I discovered God on my own terms and I've been so alive ever since.

I am proud that you have found God. I think that you should not listen to anyone. People will tell you all kinds of things. Work on building a relationship with God, and read your bible. If there are things that you don't understand, talk to elders that you trust. Start attending a good bible study. Have a relationship with your parents.

I think that if you "belive that the word of God is warped" you might as well go back to your athiesm because you are following your own imaginations and not God's Spirit!

There is nothing wrong with it. But - dont miss out on your youth. Dont let your religion overwhelm you to the point where you miss out on everything else in life. Keep a good mixture in between the two. You are still young. You have your whole life ahead of you to make such a serious choice.
