In the stores they are a lot of over the counter systems that work just as well as Proactive, in fact may say on their label "Compare to Proactive!" Proactive just does a great deal of advertising. You can save a lot of money using over the counter products like Acne Free and or buy things separate.
I recommend a system which are just twenty dollars usually.

But for separate:
You need these three things that Proactive Has that will work just as well of or better: A overall wash like Neturogina Acne Wash or Noxzema, a wash with tiny beeds like St. Ives Apricot Scrub, and a toner like Sea Breeze. And you can add an acne repairing lotion. Saves a lot of money and will last longer!

Don't be discourage if a system doesn't work, just try another one.

its not worth it, it doesnt work any better than stuff found in stores.

the main ingredient is benzoyl peroxide, which can be found in over the counter products. look at the back of a bottle of acne wash and see if the active ingredient is salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide.

proactiv just makes their system look all good because its a face wash, toner and moisturizer-which you can buy separately at the store for a lot less than the proactiv system

This should work: clean your face twice a day. In the morning, after you wash, apply benzoyl peroxide. In the evening, make it salycilic acid. Don't pick! If you do that, you should start noticing results in 4-7 days. It's not expensive if you use stuff from the drug store.

You're out of luck unless you pay for it yourself or maybe even go halfsies. It shouldn't be your mothers responsiblity to take care of your acne too. Go for something cheaper then, and maybe she'll pay for that.
