Yes, sometimes.

Yes because alcohol causes lots of chemical reactions in the brain, and affects the parts of the brain that controls voluntary movement, impulse control, speech center, vision and rational thought. That's a LOT of areas in the brain. You can only metabolize a certain amount of alcohol per hour, so the more you drink, the longer these areas are deficient.
That is why drunks talk stupid, behave stupid, don't make sense and do things they ordinarily would not. But because some things they may ordinarily repress in conscious thought (due to good manners)- like liking or disliking certain people, for example- are now no longer repressed. So the guy with the crush makes a pass, the tongue-tied person spill his guts, and the chick who really hates her mother-in-law deep down inside tells MIL off. And when they sober up- they have to do damage control.
The Romans had a saying "In Vino Veritas"- "In wine there is truth", meaning that people who drink are likely to say things they really feel. Now we have scientific evidence that says they were right.

I would say yes. I have been a bartender for 12 years so I guess you could say I am a professional on this matter. I have seen people be a best friend to someone they can't stand or tell the one they love more than anything to basically "go to hell". Alcohol does alot of things to people and acting in a way they would never do sober is the first thing that most people drinking do. Hope I helped...

Yes!

Some people can act fairly normal when they're drinking. But there are those that might have had some resentfull feelings looming, and it all comes out after a few cocktails. This can be very hurtfull and they will probably apologize the next day. I still feel bad, because I know that it was something that they really felt, but it took the booze to get it out!

The Romans had a saying, "In Vino Veritas," In wine the truth. It's been around for so long that I'm inclined to believe that alcohol does loosen the tongue. Just ask Mel Gibson.

I would agree that what people do or say while under the influence is not necessarily what they would do when not intoxicated.
People can start believing that their worst enemy is their best friend, their best friend is their worst enemy, and that they are superman.

There's an old adage that states," Alcohol is the poor mans truth serum." If you had ever been to any family reunion, you can see this in practice. Some people will use any excuse to be as ***.
