You're absolutey right! Why worry about this at this young age. Listen, you may have darker, more beautiful olive skin than your classmates, but I bet half of them are not as mature & smart as you. You can never change who you are & you shouldnt, but you can educate people & open their eyes. I can tell you are a very cute, bright young girl who should not concern herself with the color of skin. Stay who you are & you'll have many friends!

i know. that's when most things start. i think 6th and 7th grade are the years when you begin to realize that life isn't as clear cut as a child would like it to be.

skin color really shouldn't matter, but there are people out there who do care about stuff like that. to tell the truth, it is their loss because the people they stay away from or are mean to are usually the sweetest people ever.

if people only took the time to talk to people before judging them, this world would be such a better place. until everybody wakes up this reality, you just need to feel comfortable in the skin you're in and not worry about what other people say because if they can make fun of you because of your skin color, you don't want to be associated with them. don't let what people say or do to you change you. be the bigger person. love yourself for who you are.

Unfortunately that is how it is, I am black and I go through the same thing on a regular basis. It hurts but you just deal with it. People are very ignorant and need to educate themselves instead of being judgmental. But you cannot control what others do so you move on and ignore them and remember everyone is not like that, there are more good people than bad.

I'm so sorry that you have to experience that. Skin colour does not matter and don't ever let anyone let you think that. Persons who discriminate because of the colour of your skin are just ignorant and backward. Be proud of your heritage honey and never let anyone get you down.

P.S. I'm part Indian. Don't worry about it. You are beautiful and no one can change that. They're just jealous cuz they don't have a natural tan like you :)

The truth is, there are a lot of people out there that discriminate any one that is different, whether its difference in race, skin color, or gender.

Ignore mean comments and prove to yourself and others that you know so much better than to let it bring you down.

Don't pay attention to that stuff. I went through some similar things in middle school, hopefully as you get older people will start to mature and you can stay away from people like that all together.

well i am tan too but there is nothing wrong in that , just don't care --as all above already said ,ur pretty ,people just wont be contented without discriminating anything ,it matters for those who are jealous ,coz' they cant have a natural beautiful tan colour as some people do.Many people think that coloured people are also very beautiful.dont worry

bye take care

I just say that when people put me down it makes me want to work harder to prove them wrong! The people who do that proably feel worse about themselves really. Do good in school and show the world that not just white, black in between is better!

Feelings like that shouldn't start at all.

I'm glad you can see what things SHOULD be like and I'm very proud of you! You're a lot more mature than those other kids and just stay true to yourself like you are now and things should be okay.

You go gurl! haha.

Well, for one, those white people treating you differently...They are jealous cause your gorgeous and you dont have to go to a tanning salon to maintain that sun kissed skin of yours. Dont worry beautiful, its called jealousy.
