Depends, some children are FORCED to live on their own at ages as low as 14, and a lot of times they come out just fine, in fact more 'street smart' and able to maintain than those who live with their parents until they're 18, because they learned the hard way with experience...and not catered to and let out into the world as those who have the luxury of good parents. Just goes to show life without struggles isn't always the best answer for children who will eventually be on their own. But then again nor is life without love either.

So if the boy/girl is strong-willed, i'm pretty sure they can adapt..he IS human after all. If there's a will there's a way...

Check with your states laws about the age of emancipation. Most states differ in their definition of the legal age you can 'divorce' your parents. Or did you mean just run off and scrounge for yourself?
Unless the situation at home is physically or mentally unstable, do yourself a favor and hang in there for 2 more years.

Well,im not a parent yet but i can tell you that at least you should let your child to live byhimself when he is at least 18.i reccomend that because thats when he is really mature enough to live by himself.if he didnt move out yet, u should check his room and see if its dirty.see if its neat.im asking u 2 do that cause when he lives byhimself, and hes really messy and such, when a friend comes over, hed probably be thinking why his mother or father let him live by himself and they didnt even notice he is a messy dude.
i hope that helps
bye

In order to be emancipated, you must have a job, and be able to go to school full time.

You'll have to pay rent, utilities and car bills.

I see NO WAY a child could do that.

You can if you go to court and become emancipated...that means you have to be able to work and support yourself, and you are legally responsible for yourself.
