I think that if two people are of legal age, age is of no importance.

Age aint nothing but a number. But you also have to consider if the persons or person involved is under the age if 18, for instance and person say the male is 19 and the female is 16 its against the Law but some people still do it. I personally wouldn't, you risk being caught even if the female is okay with it.

I've heard a general rule of half-your-age + seven
for example, if your 30, then you could date someone 22 and up
this rule seems to work out nicely

Not really. Now, if you're 12 and she's 25, yes. But if you're both of legal age, sure, go for it. I'm 26 and my guy's five years older than me.

To me No. Just as long u like or love them. I prefer guys who are a little older than me. I don't like dating people who are younger than me. If they are probably 2 or 3 months youger than me than that''s ok. Just as long it's legal. if ur like 14 and ur partner is like 20 than i don't like that's ok but if ur like 20 and ur partner is 26 than it's ok. I mean look at Celine Dion....her husband's gotta be 20 or 30 years older than her but they still love each other and are still together till now and they been together for awhile.
