Now i was told this, but still cant believe it. its like what will water do? Now i started my diet today, and want to continue for the next 6 months. I really cant afford to go to the gym at this time, so i do taebo in the morning, and do this walking dvd at night called "walk away the pounds" I drink 8-10 glasses of water a day. I have read a coupe of things, but sometimes i believe this water thing is a myth. How will drinking a lot of water have a tremendous impact on my diet and exercize?

No, not much, you NEED to drink water not because it helps you lose weight (more precisely - fat). I drink much more than 10 glasses. The fact is 10 glasses of water may be enough for an inactive person only.

If you drink too much water just prior to, during, and right after your meals, you mess up your digestion.

Well, if water is the solution, we don't have to work-out hard only to see little result and eat carefully not to take in the junk food, and there will not be so many hypes and diets that claim they will help you lose weight when only few make sense, the number of obese population will drop as well but we all know it's going up every day. People become fat not because they don't know the magic of water or they drink not enough water, think it twice. Instead of hoping water to help, eating more vegetables and continuing with your exercise will be more realistic.

Apart from the genetics and illness reasons, obesity is caused by bad lifestyle - sedentary lifestyle, eating junk food, eating processed food, late nights, drinking, etc. Reversing the bad habits is the best solution.

The water myth is like not doing something risky can certainly avoid injuries but it does not guarantee a strong body, drinking enough water can certainly avoid problems from inadequate water intake but it does not guarantee you a slim body.

^_^ good luck

The water thing depends on what type of body you have. For some people water really does help you lose weight because after you eat and you drink a glass of water if helps to flush out you system. However for some, drinking alot of water can cause bloating because you'll gain all of your water weight and the water will be taking up you body mass not the food you ate. But either way you can't go wrong with drinking water because even if you dont lose weight it is extremely healthy for you. hope this helps.

I have heard from many people drinking water helps you lose weight. I started drinking water about a year ago and lost about 10 pounds, but i don't know if thats the reason I did lose weight, maybe just a fast metabolism...I did read that a pop a day or more for a year can make you gain 10-15 pounds so I'm guessing water would help-good luck.

For one thing, I read somewhere that it takes 1 calorie to heat 1 gallon of water by 1 degree. If you are drinking about half a galon per day, and the inside of your body is like 50 degrees cooler than the water you are drinking, there's 25 calories gone just like that! ... I think. I haven't really looked into that part too much, but it kinda makes sense with what reading I have done. Now, here's the part that I do know....

#1, your body needs to be well hydrated to remain healthy. And healthy bodies loose weight and get in shape better than unhealthy bodies.

#2, if you drink plenty of water every day, you will not crave as many other beverages. Even that 0 calorie "diet" soda can cause weight gain. I believe it's the sodium in it... My grandmother was a nurse (she retired last year) and had gone on a few good diets. One thing that she learned quickly was that even drinks with few or no calories can add to your weight gain by making you crave more foods and by causing you to retain more water.

Drinking enough water is just one of the many elements that can help you loose weight and get into better shape. Remember to also watch what foods you eat. And don't drink too much water. 8-10 glasses a day is fine. But when you get up into the gallons, especially if you drink too quickly, you start to risk serious health problems.

Have faith in the water :) It sounds like you are off to a great start! The water should be helping to curb your appetite and make you feel better all over. Not only will this lead to you consuming fewer calories, feeling good will also help you find the motivation to keep up and eventually increase the exercise.

I've lost 5 kilos in my first week. It's my 10th day and I have included salad with some protein (eg. egg/ lean chicken) as you suggested. After 4 years of trying, the fat is finally coming off. It truly feels like magic!

I'm not sure that that's true. However, drinking lots of water will help you get rid of the excess that your body REALLY doesn't need.
