I am from OK and my relatives live in SC. We are meeting in TN in June to camp and have fun for a couple of days. Outdoor recreation is what we are looking for. Maybe some canoeing, swimming, hiking, trails. We have several small children so some facilities would be great.

If you're not interested in driving over to the Great Smoky Mountains NP, there are several state parks in western Tennessee, including:
Montgomery Bell State Park has both canoeing, including rentals, a swimming beach and 19 miles of hiking trails.

Mousetail Landing State Park on the banks of the Tennessee River allows boating, has a swimming beach, and a couple of hiking trails. http://state.tn.us/environment/parks/MousetailLanding/

Natchez Trace State Park has similar activites

Most of the better State Parks, and stuff are located in East, and Middle Tennessee. West Tennessee doesnt have that much going on honestly. The state of Tennessee has a website that shows all the Parks and natural areas. I have lived in Tennessee all my life and I personally think the best parks are located in east, and middle Tennessee. I love hiking in the Savage Gulf, and Alum Cave trail. Both of these are nowhere close to West TN though. Im sure you're not wanting to travel all the way to east TN to hike. Good luck.
