What is hell? Yes, I know. Many Muslims and Christians accept the literal versions of hell written in our holy books, but I don't.

Will I go to hell for that? In their viewpoint, I will.

I picture hell as being away from the Glory and Beauty of Allah's Existence, while the people in heaven bask in the splendor of it. And I picture it as another learning experience that if a soul can learn, it will rise to heaven when it has learned what it needed to from the experience.

Is this inhumane? Well, what is inhumane? Eating chicken? Torture of prisoners in Guantanamo and AbuGhraib and Israeli prisons? All of this things are inhumane really. Causing suffering is wrong, but is it inhumane? That's according to your definition of the word.

From what I believe, hell is not torture, therefore not inhumane, but a final chance to learn the lessons we didn't learn in this life.

Salaamu Alaykum

Of course it is. The fear of it lead me to become a Born-Again Christian. But I couldn't accept how all the holocaust victims, the victims of that Asian tsunami, and various other people who were innocent save their religion could burn in Hell, while Christians who stone people to death (even today), push screws under people's thumbs, set people on fire, and do all sorts of really horrible things are promised eternal paradise. After all, most places teach that all you have to do is believe in God and you will be saved.

Also, have I mentioned how painful fire is? If you've ever burned yourself, you get a little leery of hot things. Now, that's probably not as hot as Hell- a scorching 300-something-degree Celsius lake of fire and molten sulfer. That, for just a second, would be enough torment for even the worst of sins. However, you are cast into there for eternity. Although Heaven's hotter. According to certain verses, it receives 49x as much radiation as Earth. A conversion factor places Heaven at around 500-something-degree C. Burn, baby, burn.

No hate mail por favor, I am entitled to my belief and you are entitled to yours. "Live and let live." All I am doing is answering the question from my point of view.

no... I believe hell is inhumane... but no one ever said it wouldn't be... that's why I choose to not go there.

The actual definition of hell is a separation from God. This world? hum separated from God right. There is sin everywhere. The separation is caused by sin.

God created us to be tested by the most we scare of, for those who keep their patience and prayers to get the most they dream of, and those who don’t the most they hate (hell).
Your thoughts decide your own hell.

I don't believe so. I think it is where we learn how to really be one with god by discovering what makes us not ready to receive god yet.
