I've had sex while on my courses before, and just about all my guy friends say they have had sex with a girl while she was on her courses and they were fine with it. Well I have a new boyfriend and we haven't had sex yet; we've decided to wait a while. Anyway, he says he's never made love to a woman while she was having her courses and he won't do that because he thinks it's disgusting. I was very offended. He made me feel like he thought my body was unclean or something. Anyway, I told him that until he changes his attitude, he can consider this a sex-free relationship. I think if a guy is repulsed by a woman's body then he shouldn't have the honor of enjoying it. Am I out of line?

No, Erik, he specifically said he will not have sex with me on my period.

Ashley, I'm not a Christian, so I don't have to follow biblical law.

Well. It really does depend on the guy. I mean, it's just his opinion. But if he went about telling you all rudely, that wasn't exactly the smartest choice. He could have at least told you politely that he was uncomfortable with that, but you should respect his wants too. True, it is a natural part of your body, and he should respect that, but it might be a little ick for him. That's just how some people are. So I don't believe you're out of line, but I don't think it'd hurt to ease up on him just a little. Just try to compromise with him.

Yes, you are out of line. You must have some very unusual guy friends, because no one really wants to have sex with a woman who's on her period. You have to understand. All that blood and stuff . . . it's kinda gross and it seems unsanitary. No matter how clean you think you are, he's going to be thinking about that. So give the guy a break and wait until you're off your period. Or get on birth control or something.

If this is seriously grossing this guy out, he can't make himself want to have sex with you. And you can't either. I'm sure he loves you and wants to be there for you and all, but having sex isn't the best thing to do during that time. Can't you just cuddle and enjoy each other's company for a while? Good night!

I'm assuming by courses you mean menstruating. And I have been in the same situation my former lover and I have don it, where as my new lover refuses to even go near my area when i am on the wave. It's not a repulsion with your body, Think about it do you like the way you smell, look, or feel when you are on your period? No I get super self-conscious because honestly i get bloated, breakout, have hot flashes and am convinced I smell like coffee grinds. I love my body but even as a woman I feel like your period is horrendous and if someone doesn't want to experience that with me I am okay with it. Don't take it as an insult just realize that some people are uncomfortable with situations like that. I don't think you are out of line, I understand you're thoughts on his reaction but I do think it's kinda wrong to try to force something on him that he is obviously not interested in. In order to make it work you have to compromise, if something repulses someone than you have to kind of suck it up and just not have sex while you're bleeding.

What are you thinking? off course you not suppose to have sex while you are in your period and he is right, it is disgusting. Don't get offended but what kind of guys have you been going out with?
I bet they are desperate and they know they can do it when ever they can with you. I think all your friends need to know that it is not the time to have sex while you are on your period or what ever
you call it.

He has a right to his preferences. Some men and women don't mind doing that, but have you ever considered that he is conscientous of things that can be spread, though sexually intercourse, especially if blood is envolved?
Don't be so inconsiderate, its a few days out of the month, where you aren't going to be having sex,big woop. Grow up,get over it,or pursue a relationship elsewhere.

Some people really just find the extra bodily fluids to be gross. I did for a long time... until I realized that sex on my period made the cramps stop.
Maybe he'll change his mind, maybe he won't, but that's kinda his choice.

What courses are you talking about, a maths course, an English course or maybe a course on motorcycle mechanics.

I prefer to have sex after the course because it offends the other students, or sometimes they want to join in.

You should respect your boyfriend's opinion and lay off sex while you're on your courses. Don't feel offended, because not everyone will be comfortable with things that you find normal. His decision does not mean that he doesn't respect your body, and it most definitely doesn't mean that he doesn't love you.

There isn't a 100% answer to this. Some will say that he is disrespecting you and others will say to respect his wishes.

Put yourself in his shoes, would you have sex with him if his penis was bleeding?

It's just awkward for some guys. It's not that he wouldn't have sex with YOU on your period, but he wont with ANY GIRL on their period
