Yes and no. I am a Director of Financial Aid at an institution that is able to use both FAFSA's for the summer term (previous year as well as next year) so our students will always find some way to have summer covered but they still will have a term that is not covered by financial aid due to funding restrictions (Pell grants are usually divided by 2 terms for sememsters and 3 terms for quarters so there is always an extra term that needs to be covered by loans or other funding). I would speak to the financial aid office and see which FAFSA they will use for the summer term (the 06/07 or 07/08) and if they use the 06/07 they will look to see if you have any avaliable funds from that year to help pay for your tuition. Another point to look at is you will still be required to attend half time to recieve most financial aid so make sure you plan on taking enough classes over the summer.

If you are a full time student for the school year and get the max. amount of award. No. Otherwise, you will have a chance to. But you get financial aid per school year but not per semester. So you get what you get whether you enroll for summer or not. And it should be enough for tuition for the whole year (excluding housing and such). This applies to general federal grants. State grants may differ depending on the state you are at. Also keep an eye on work study; you may have a chance of getting more.

Yes, financial aid is offered during summer too. Your school's financial aid office will be able to give you the exact details.

Financial Aid is awarded for each school year. Most schools will allow you to take smaller portions each term, so that Summer terms are covered. You will need to talk to your financial aid advisor to see what your school's policy is.
