i think so. they dont believe in divine intervention or that the bible(which has errors) was inspired by god, for good reason. the only reason I think they believe in god, is because they are unsure how the earth came to be those billions of years ago.
they question things. think for themselves. dont believe in some invisible murderous maniac eavesdropping deity involved in our everyday life.
so, yes, they have the honor of being a free thinker.

Even atheists are not necessarily free thinkers. Atheists can be utterly irrational about plenty of concepts and ideas, though there is a marked tendency for atheists to embrace rational thinking. Atheists can believe in fairies if they so choose, and would still be atheists.

Free thought is a subset within irreligious circles.
