In July 2005 Tancredo stated that if al-Qaeda used nuclear weapons in the USA that one response would be to retaliate by "taking out" Muslim holy sites (specifically, Mecca) if it were clearly proven that Islamic terrorists were behind such an attack .

the main question is at the top but i was wondering how could the comments from tancredo affect the Global War on Terror which needs to be won with the help of the muslims which are not terrorist and do not mean harm to the USA ???

Do u agree then such action would be fair in case we were attack by terrorist and not by the muslimcomunity ???

how important is to be friends with the muslim comunity for the USA ???

do u believe than all msulims are terrorist ???

tancredo is a very well known by the immigrant comunity so i guess those who use the immigration seccion may be helpful but anyone can answer , thanks .

Well, he said it a year and a half ago, so I suspect any damage it was going to do would have been done by now.

However, I think the terrorists would love it if the US took out Mecca. I can't imagine anything that would increase their numbers faster.

And even if all of the Muslims went up in a puff of smoke and were no more, educated people everywhere would be against eradicating such an historically important site.

Tancredo was doubtless trying to make a point, but not having more than that snatch of what he was saying, I couldn't say what that might be.

Tom is a great man, its hard to defend a religion that worships a rock. (Mecca is the site of this rock, they kiss this rock to wash away their sins,....ok) and pray to this rock from all over the world.
I also dont believe any Muslim attacked on 911.
I never said you couldnt worship a rock I will defend to the death the RIGHT to worship a rock I said it was hard to defend the PRACTICE of worshiping a ROCK.

Tancredo is an ultraconservative that is out of his mind.

Edit - To the guy under me, USA has freedom of religion whether you worship a rock or you don't worship anything at all.
