Tithing is the only thing that GOD tells us to put to the test. My thought would be if you have been asking HIM specifically what HE wants you to do in regard to your other problems.
To me, the money issue seems far less critical than the fellowship issue. When we do not fellowship with GODly people, we are a huge target for the enemy, satan. And it sounds like maybe the enemy has really been messing with you.
Please try praying more, asking HIM to reveal to you HIS will. GOD does speak.
GOD bless you. Don't give up 5 minutes before the Miracle!

I see your cup is half empty; and not half full. Tithing doesn't have to be 10% of money it can be less or even donated in your time. A lot of people use their skills (blessing from God) to give back - to church, schools, community. God owns the world so your opportunities are unlimited in ways to give. Even donating clothing, old books, stuff that you have store up and don't use is valuable to someone else in some way.
As for blessing - look around and take stock. I'm guessing that you live in North America; or maybe UK - my point is that you were born into a world that is not 3rd rated. You have resources that are taken for granted; healthy and have money to even argue with your folks about and a computer to post this question on with internet access - dial up or broadband my friend?
How bad are things - REALLY?

When he's ready you will be blessed I promise and as far as the other about your job and life in general...ususlly when things seem to be upside down is when you are going through a valley a trial and the lord is just before blessing you in a big way.You want be in a low place forever and when you come out you'll be asking yourself why was I so down the other day. You'll be loving the blessing that Jesus has gave you.

God's blessings cannot be bought. Tithing is done with a giving heart because you want to. Not to get blessed. Blessings are a side effect of living an obedient life. Look inside yourself and evaluate yourself through God's eye and make changes accordingly. The blessings will come with obedience to God's leading.

Tithing helps support the church in the community. outreach programs. things like that. feeding homeless. It is a nice thing to do to help them help others. I'm not religious, but I do believe good deeds like tithing are wonderful and should be done. One thing I suggest is to talk to your priest or pastor at your church. They may have a job board or job placement assistance for church members. You know... one of those things your tithing helps to pay for. So through the church as a known member who does give assistance, ye shall receive.... and that is a blessing of sorts :) They will also be able to give counseling (paid for by those tithes) to help you with your current depression.

Malachi says to test him in tithes.
Of course there is no way of knowing what life would be like if you did not tithe. It all comes down to do you trust God and the Bible?
You do what you think will benifit you the most. As for me and my house we will serve the Lord

you are assuming that Act A leads to Point B. Not necessarily true. Maybe God IS blessing you in that your life would suck even worse if you didn't tithe. But more likely, your misery has absolutely nothing to do with your tithing, but your attitude of "God owes me a blessing since I tithe." God owes us absolutely nothing, tithe or no tithe.
