i use to agree with that until my father told me something. all of the us soldiers are volunteers. to give their lives in the name of freedom everywhere and democracy to every person. people were being oppressed by a ruthless dictator who needed to be stopped. i hate seeing the totals of us soldiers who died in Iraq. it makes me cry but I'm proud because they died for a cause, they died with honor and integrity. this is bush's last term in office hopefully the next administration will see that we pull our guys and bring them back home. and everyone else is also correct the Iraqi people tried and hung Saddam. this was a military tactic and a warning to bin laden, Qaddafi, iotola and all other dictators and terrorist.that we are willing to go to war and fight so don't mess with the united states.

This question is a lot more complex than you seem to think. The legality itself is arguable, I suppose, but because the of the US's position in the UN, it is basically above the law in that regard. Besides, Iraq broke the resolutions passed against it. While you would probably like to point out that Israel, Palestine, Iran, and North Korea have also done so, please remember that the scope of this question is just Iraq itself.
If the US "failed" in Iraq, it seems that it is, in fact, the Iraqi people that failed. Iraqis were given every opportunity to set up a government, but they still continue to squabble about resources and so forth, and divide things by province rather than by economic factors and so forth. This -should- be a fairly prosperous democracy, however, if the leaders can't share (for the unity of the country), then how can they expect to have peace?
The US military isn't so much killing Iraqis as it is attempting to protect poor people from death at the hands of militants, criminals, and crooked police. I have heard that the US is considering distancing itself from the Iraqi government.
Do Iraqis want to live in peace? Or do Iraqis want to fight for as much of Iraq (oil) as they can get? Obviously they will have to fight. I think the average Iraqi wants peace, they just don't understand what is going on.
I would also like to point out that Iraq won't be able to pay the US back, at least for a long time. The US expenditure is... well... outrageous.
The question, now, however, is not whether they had the rights to go there, but rather, what should they do now?
Should they leave? Wouldn't the situation end up in genocide? That would be great, massive killing of the poor, probably in the name of God. Nah, the US public does not want that. Many have lost hope, however.
And, I must reiterate, it is Iraqis killing Iraqis in Iraq. US soldiers are more like police.
And if you're prejudice, you might not like my answer, but, its what I've learned. Regardless of US foreign policy, this is where we are...

I don't think we had the right to invade Iraq because none of the alleged weapons were found.
Also, Saddam may have been "tyrannical" but at least he held the nation of Iraq together which is more than I can say for the current situation.
The thing is, democracy is completely against Islamic teachings and can never work in a Muslim country. The only exception is Turkey, which has proven democracy can be successful in a Muslim country.
Anyways, I think Bush used 9/11 and our paranoia of another 9/11 to enter the war. After no weapons were discovered, he used Saddam Hussein as an excuse for getting rid of a dictator. Americans, at first, followed the war because they believed Iraq had weapons, but now, we're starting to wake up.
However, we're still not doing anything because the war is over there and doesn't affect us at home. Our lives aren't affected and in reality, that's all we care about.
As for why Bush entered the war, he's daddy's avenger for the assassination attempt.
And we didn't hang Saddam, but we led his trial somewhat. Mysterious how two of his leading lawyers were killed right before the trial, isn't it?

Bush invaded Iraq for no reason. If any other world leader invaded a country in this way, I can't even imagine what would happen to them. They'd be be tried as a war criminal. I just don't understand why he gets away with things! As far as hanging Sadaam, the Iraqui officials took custody of him & handled his hanging. They say he killed possibly a million innocent people, so I guess he got what he deserved, although I think it could have been handled better. Beleive me, the majority of American people disagree with Bush, but we are powerless to do anything about it. Unfortunatley, we are stuck with him for 2 more years until our next election. Thank God for term limits!

Saddam was tried by Iraqis, found guilty by an Iraqi jury, sentenced by an Iraqi judge and hung by the authority of the Iraqi government. Period.
And, yes, we have not only the right, but the obligation to attack, invade or otherwise neutralize any country that trains, harbors, assists, supplies or sympathizes with the Islamic terrorists. The whole civilized world has this obligation - I only wish they would live up to the commitment!

When you're the only super power left in the world (or at least currently) no one is going to say what rights you have or don't have. You set the only rules. Technically we didn't hang Saddam, the "Iraqis did."

Who is going to stop him?
Iraq is a lie and 3000 Americans have died for that lie. Bush is a F^%$kWiT C*&T and Rumsfeld is a coward and a war criminal. Both should be hung like Saddam.
The UN did not support the war and France like it or not was the only country that saw the thing in perspective.
the biggest problem is now that Bush has publically acknowledged that he USA is not winning ( notice he didnt say losing) and public opinion is getting stronger everyday the best the USA can hope for is that since Bush cannot be re-elected to another term then who ever comes in will be able to withdraw the troops without either political party losing face,
If you want to know why Americans wont stop him ...ignorant comments lkike the one from sjaigirl sum up the US perfectly. they are there own worst enemy and they bought 9-11 on themselves.

Most wars are based off of politics. Besides, THE US DID NOT HANG SADDAM! The Iraqi government tried, convicted and hanged him. The US had nothing to do with that. Get your facts correct and please look into spell check.
