sites like hi5.com or facebook. com where you can link with friends through other friends are great for finding people. I cannot tell you how many people I have met up with, people I have not seen for years, this way. it's kinda like a 6 degrees of separation thing. I am sure someone will have your friend listed, or at least will know how to reach him. good luck!

I'm not sure but perhaps you can try an online community where someone in Trinidad can look up the info for you. If you give them some info, perhaps someone knows him. Good luck.
