If your having bunion surgery...which is when your toe curves in that way...I had it last summer. I was scared to death! The pain was WAY better than I imagined! I had to wear a special boot for a couple of weeks. Don't worry yourself too much. I was able to put full weight on that foot after one week. I had to wear the boot and then a special shoe for about a month. Good luck!!

I think watching your own surgery that may involve bones breaking is a bad idea. enjoy your time under the influence of a mild anesthetic if you can. It really is amazing when they put you under and you try to stay awake and you just can't and literally one second later you are waking up and it's over.

you will probably have some pain and stiffness, and getting used to your new toes might be a bit strange. but wear a good supportive shoe for as long as the doc advises. don't cut the time short. and take your pain meds. you will be fine. good lucK!

I've had something similar to this, but with my nails. [It was about 5 hours till I was running again :D]

It's really fun, in a very perverse sense. Ask for local anesthetics and watch. Watching is the best part because then you're less scared.

You should be able to walk in about 7 days.

I'm a nurse. No you might not feel anything after surgery. You will be sore, make sure you follow all of the after care instructions from your doctor. You will be OK.
