I think you are talking about type II diabetes where sugars are no no.
Basically you are talking about a diet, low in carbohydrates, contains no simple sugars (glucose), refined sugars (no cane sugars, sucrose). This means no soft drinks except diet cokes, no 100plus (hidden sugars), no fruit juice drinks (flavored water with sugars added). Small servings of rice, pasta, bread. They are all available at any stall selling mixed rice. To be sure, do a blood glucose pin prick test 2 hours after meal. If spike, avoid the usual suspects. Taking a sachet of fibogel drink will also help delay sugar absorption.
