I want a nice wedding, at a hall of some sort, with a nice dress, etc. There will be between 100 and 200 people at the wedding and reception. I will be getting married in Las Vegas. What is a good price to aim for? I haven't started looking at anything yet; I don't want to get excited and then realize that I can't afford it for awhile. I know you can't give me exact figures, but ballpark ones would help. Thanks!

For the basics of getting married in Las Vegas, allow $55 for your marriage licence, and then allow for gratuities - minister $50+, photographer $50+, limo driver $20+. For the rest of it, however, set a budget and stick to it - make sure you can afford it rather than letting the wedding run away with you. We got married in Vegas in September, and it's very easy for costs to escalate.

The website below lets you browse every wedding venue in Las Vegas, and to search every wedding package by cost. It also lets you search all reception venues that have fixed price menus by cost and cuisine - playing around with this should give you some ballpark figures.

Good luck - and congratulations!

You can have a beautiful wedding to fit your budget. The typical price per guest for the reception is $100, give or take $25. The problem though is that Las Vegas can be considered a destination wedding even if you and your guests come from the area. Hotels tend to run on the pricey side and so even a weekend in Sin City could run your guests credit card bills far up. So you may not even break even with gifts. But most, if not all of the hotels are prepared for such events so shop around. The Knot.com can provide you with a list of establishments in the Vegas area to fit any budget so give it a whirl and go from there.

I am getting ready to go into my education to become a wedding planner. I have some lists of venues in the Las Vegas area, and this is a pretty good estimate for lets say 150 guests, at a nice hotel reception room, I would say about anywhere from 7,000, to 20,000. Now that's a pretty good guess, but look up some venues, and if you need any help email me. Congrats.

well, mine was not extravagant but was nice and had 200 ppl with a nice dress and a hall, and all that good stuff. We did a home made buffet that was great! A homemade cake, we Had liquor and all that, keg of beer, decorations up the yin yang, a great DJ, one bridesmaid, one groomsmen, best man and maid of honor, two ushers, and all in all, it cost around eight or nine thousand dollars, including the plane tickets to Jamaica for the honeymoon.

i have been looking into my own wedding plans, trying to cut as many corneres and costs...basically plan on at least $10,000. If price is an issue, I would try cutting down th eguest list, or getting married in vegas and having a big bash when you get home.....good luck!

Seems like the weddings I've been to that had 150-200 guests cost somewhere between $10,000-$15,000.

My husband and I had 88 people at our wedding, with an open bar and sit-down dinner. It was almost $20,000 in rural Virginia.
Check with the places you're looking at to see if it's more financially prudent to have a buffet or sit-down dinner. We found that a sit-down was cheaper!

The new national average rate is $25,000 - $42,000. NYC is at the top and Miami at $30,000. I know Vegas will be expensive so plan in that range. Tip: Definately do open bar! And buffet if you can afford it.

I would say at least $10,000 if you want that many people and a nice wedding with a hall and everything. maybe even more like $15,000.
