Why do you think a loving God would even think up something like hell.............This is man made not God

A word used in the King James Version (as well as in the Catholic Douay Version and most older translations) to translate the Hebrew she’ohl′ and the Greek hai′des. In the King James Version the word “hell” is rendered from she’ohl′ 31 times and from hai′des 10 times. This version is not consistent, however, since she’ohl′ is also translated 31 times “grave” and 3 times “pit.” In the Douay Version she’ohl′ is rendered “hell” 64 times, “pit” once, and “death” once.
The meaning given today to the word “hell” is that portrayed in Dante’s Divine Comedy and Milton’s Paradise Lost, which meaning is completely foreign to the original definition of the word. The idea of a “hell” of fiery torment, however, dates back long before Dante or Milton. The Grolier Universal Encyclopedia (1971, Vol. 9, p. 205) under “Hell” says: “Hindus and Buddhists regard hell as a place of spiritual cleansing and final restoration. Islamic tradition considers it as a place of everlasting punishment.” The idea of suffering after death is found among the pagan religious teachings of ancient peoples in Babylon and Egypt. Babylonian and Assyrian beliefs depicted the “nether world . . . as a place full of horrors, . . . presided over by gods and demons of great strength and fierceness.” Although ancient Egyptian religious texts do not teach that the burning of any individual victim would go on forever, they do portray the “Other World” as featuring “pits of fire” for “the damned.”—The Religion of Babylonia and Assyria, by Morris Jastrow, Jr., 1898, p. 581; The Book of the Dead, with introduction by E. Wallis Budge, 1960, pp. 135, 144, 149, 151, 153, 161, 200.

Yes, I am a Christian and love Church and praise and the Bible. I hope that people who do not believe will come to Christ because they get to know His Beauty and kindness. Christ is a sweet fragrance to the believer and we need to share His good news. That He came in love to save lost people, trouble is, they don't believe they are lost sinners.

Its wonderful to know that you can use this religion thing as a way to judge others. Its also nice to know that there is a "kind" and "loving" big invisible dude who is just waiting to throw me in a firey pit because i decided that going to church, and listening to hypocrites, and pompous asses such as yourself, tell me what a horrible person i am, is just not my bag. I think that its important to strive to be a good person and you don't need a ancient, badly written book to tell you how to do that.

Quit being an ***, you're the kind of christian that proves christians are self serving ***-holes.

Yes I am a Christian.
God loves everyone and is waiting for them to respond to the truth about the sacrifice Jesus made on our behalf. God does not want any to perish but all to come to repentance.

I am a Christian too and I also believe in Jesus Christ.I believe that he died on the cross for all of our sins and arose again so that we can have life more abundantly. The most beautiful thing is that we can live for ever and ever with Christ

No. What makes you think that people (quit using the word non believers. Its insulting) who don't believe in your god have never been to church? Most Atheists grew up Christian.
