My 5 month old Shih Tzu, Miracle, had a realy cute coat when I part her down the back, then brush it sideways...Right after I finnish brushing her, she shakes and it all goes back to normal...How can I keep my dog's fur as a show-coat? I mean, like the long haired ones on the AKC, her hair is almost as long as that and I want to groom her straight out and keep her that way...I have hairspray and hair cement, are thoose safe for the dog? If not, what can I use?

I DONT THINK SO CAUSE IF THEY LICK IT COULD MAKE THEM SICK. MAYBE JUST KEEP BRUSHING IT UNTIL YOU HAVE THE FUR TRAINED TO GO THAT WAY.

With all of the products for dogs now I'm sure that there is a company that makes hairspray for dogs. Just browse around the internet.

They do make dog products for this. Check your local pet store. I have used Gel to keep a top knot up ( just don't get it in the eyes) but you don't want a dog licking at something that may be toxic.

It seems like your dog doesn't like it when you brush it, i say just leave your dog as is. don't waste hairspray on it, it's probably not good for it too.

No.....come on think about it, it's in the human stores, do you see that in pet stores? Try calling a groomer see what they'd recommend.
