GOD IS NOT GOING TO DESTROY THE EARTH, THE EARTH SOMETIME IN THE NEAR FUTURE WILL BECOME A GARDEN OF EDEN OR PARADISE WHERE PEOPLE CAN LIVE IN PEACE & SECURITY.
ARMAGEDDON IS SIMPLY HIS WAR TO CLEAN THE EARTH OF WICKED PEOPLE & ALL BAD THINGS THAT EXIST, & PEOPLE WHOSE WORSHIP IS UNACCEPTABLE TO HIM.
Why, though, would God wage a global war? Armageddon is closely related to one of his cardinal qualities, justice. The Bible declares: “God is a lover of justice.” (Psalm 37:28) He has seen all the acts of injustice perpetrated during man’s history. This naturally provokes his righteous displeasure. Thus, he has appointed his Son to wage a just war in order to do away with this entire wicked system.
Only God is capable of waging a truly just and truly selective war during which righthearted individuals, wherever they may be on earth, will be preserved. ) And only he has the right to impose his sovereignty over all the earth, for it is his creation. Revelation 4:11.
What about survivors? Indeed, no one needs to perish at Armageddon. The apostle Peter observed: “God, does not desire any to be destroyed but desires all to attain to repentance.” (2 Peter 3:9) And the apostle Paul stated that God’s “will is that all sorts of men should be saved and come to an accurate knowledge of truth.”
Consider the good Har–Magedon promises to achieve, godly humanity’s peaceful future on this planet, no more pollution, no more war, no more poverty, no more disease or even death. God promises: “Look! I am making all things new.” Revelation 21:3,4

Yes, you are headed in the correct direction!
However, there is a prophecy that must be fulfilled first....then the end would come. That is the way the prophecy is written....that is how it will be fulfilled.
"And this good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations; and then the end will come." -Matthew 24:14
also...............one of my favorites:
"For the upright are the ones that will reside in the earth, and the blameless are the ones that will be left over in it. 22 As regards the wicked, they will be cut off from the very earth; and as for the treacherous, they will be torn away from it." -Proverbs 2:21-22
oh.........just one more!!!!
"Hope in Jehovah and keep his way,
And he will exalt you to take possession of the earth.
When the wicked ones are cut off, you will see [it]."
-Psalms 37:34

Every person is going to live forever. It is not a question of good or wicked. People who believe Jesus Christ is their personal savior will live forever with God in heaven. People who do not believe Jesus Christ is their personal savior will live forever with Satan in hell.
mae - to address your question
Satan talked to Eve in the Old Testament of the Bible.
God sent Jesus later. His life is described in the New Testament of the Bible.
God did tell Adam he would die and return to the dust of the earth. God was talking about Adam's body. God was right.
The Bible also talks about everyone being judged, those alive and even those already in the grave. All will live to face the judgment of God.
In the Old Testament, man had to take a sacrifice (unblemished animal) to the temple to offer as a sacrifice for his sins. This was the only way he could stand before God in judgment and be found without sin.
In the New Testament, things changed. No more animal sacrifices. Jesus came as the ultimate sacrifice, pure and without sin, able to take all of our sins so we may be found without sin if we believe He is our savior.
God created us as eternal beings. Only our earthly bodies die. Our spirits lives on forever. It is up to us to decide where we will spend eternity.

Sounds like a neat idea, but God seems to think otherwise. Jesus tells us that He lets the wheat and the weeds grow together, and it is more to strengthen the good and faithful. What would life be, and how good would we be, without a challenge?

Sin has destroyed the plans for life here. That is why God prepared heaven for us. Sin inhabits the earth. There will be no sin in heaven.
