I got married in November. Invited 50 ppl, and it cost me $3000. And it was in a church. Outdoors you have to have a tent and other decor that was already in our church. Small weddings just mean spending a smaller fortune especially for 100 ppl. Good luck and I hope you have a wonderful wedding.

In planning a wedding 35% percent of your wedding is budgeted for food. The most important key is what time is the wedding. If it is after 6 p.m , you have to feed them- before 6 p.m tease them with appetizers. In having a wedding outside the weather is something you cannot control, so you will need to have a backup plan for tents etc. Start with a budget, however the average small wedding would cost $18,000.00.
If you fail to plan then you plan to fail. Start with a budget, find a location and finalize your guest list (2) weeks before the wedding to be specify about the total number of guest who will actually attend, then you know the exact amount that you would have to allocate for food from your budget. Call a wedding planner to assist you, it would be less stressful.

I got married right after July 4th in an outdoor ceremony...had about 50 peole there I think...and my family contributed by helping us with the food and decorating the day of our wedding...my husband and I were both out there putting things up and having a good ole' time...anyway...think the total cost was right around $1000...but that was us buying the things and making everything ourselves with the exception of dresses (bought) and brides cake (about $175 I think it was)...anyway, had a blast and never got nervous until I realized I had forgotten my makeup and had a hard time getting my dad to answer the phone to have him bring it to me...but over all though, about $1000 for everything (oh and it was in the south)...HAVE FUN AND GOOD LUCK!!!

That is not a "small" wedding.
And being in NY you will spend more than say Indiana.
Go to cost of a wedding.com. It caluclates what the average wedding is costing in your area.

Our small outdoor wedding in MD is going to ring in at about $2500, but I'd think NY would be more costly. Congrats & good luck.
