Dear brothers and sisters in Christ, these people of Wicca have been terribly slandered by us. They have lost jobs, and homes, and places of business because we have assured others that they worship Satan, which they do not. We have persecuted them, and God will hold us accountable for this, you may be sure, for He has said, "Assuredly I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me." (Matthew 25:40)

When the Son of G-d speaks to His disciples in the passage you quoted, the brethren He's talking about are G-d fearing brothers. However, let me take the argument one step further, the scriptures also teach that we must confront error, though in Love. There are many Christians who have yet to learn how to be tactful, wise and mature in the way they assist others in seeing their lack of wisdom and understanding. You must also remember that G-d forbade the practices of witchcraft and sorcery, and really can you have us confront the errors in your belief and understanding and support you at the same time. We can hate the sin, though we must love the sinner. We know too, that the scriptures also teach that Satan would come in the last days as an angel of light and would deceive even the very elect. However, realize that this believer is not deceived and that I know the difference between truth and error as we have seen displayed here.

Oh, I almost forgot, to moon_godess et al, the scripture about judging others has been seriously misused, misquoted and misunderstood forever. Let me quickly elaborate: if you people look at one another and notice how attractive someone is, they are making a "judgment". If you make a decision between two brands of a product, you are making a judgment. Possibly when looking at another individual you may "judge" that they are unworthy of your interest, therein you have made a value judgment based on your perceptions. However, if that same person were to cut you off in traffic, you would not only decide that they are not worthy of your interest, you would deem that they ought to be drawn and quartered, followoing torture. Therein you not only make a value judgment, but, based on that judgment, you are passing a verdict of condemnation, which is where the admonition to not judge is aimed.

Hey elementxmaster. Well, I'm a Christian, but I agree that people shouldn't be treated inferior because of their religious views or, in your case, lack of one. I wish you the best in this world in dealing with people who may judge you; but be prepared for it. I know you say you are not certain you believe in God. Now I know you may not be certain on the path to truth, but I believe the notion of a deity actually makes Sense. Many say lack of evidence, but that leads to a negative argument, for God can not be proven nor disproven. Thats why I say (more like repeat what I've heard), When You Desire Truth As Much As Need To Breathe, Then, and only Then, Will You Find It. In your quest you may find that God truly does exist, and that we are not an insignificant dot of a planet in a vast expanse of space for no reason. It will require a lot of analysis, logic, reasoning, but also realize that it will require FAITH. Now when I say faith, don't connect that word with any particular religion. Faith just means you will have to accept some things, because all the reasoning and logic in the world still won't give you all the answers. You have to begin some where. Well I wish you the best in your studies at the University and that some day the Light in this world will arrive in your life, but you must seek it, and therefore let it.* God bless.

I think it's very important to be the best person you can be, treating others how you'd want to be treated. As far as heaven and hell go, though....somewhere you go after you die based on your belief in a god that supposedly has boundless love? I think not. The entire basis for the whole condemnation theory is based far too much on human attributes than any plan of a "higher being". God's pissed at me, so he sends me away as punishment? Yeah, ok, what's he going to do now, take away my toys and tell me to go take a nap and think about what I've done? Please. Anyway, faith in any deity, IMO, would not have any bearing on whether or not you're a good person, and if fear is the only thing driving you to act appropriately, then I have no use for you.

Fascinating. I'm not quite sure what to say as I'm Wiccan.

I find it extremely distasteful the idea that we worship the Christian god. The Christian god is one of hatred, fear, anger, prejudice, persecution, and bigotry. He's a wrathful cruel god.

Our gods are not.

But I have a hard time arguing with a Christian that is advocating being more accepting and loving to others rather than being cruel and hateful as most Christians teach.

Therefore, I'll neither support nor deny it and I won't fight. This Christians heart is in the right place. Other Christians stand to learn a great deal from this one.

I agree with most of the criticism and lack of love that some professing to be Christians have demonstrated to those who do not believe as Christians do but amoungst those professing to be Christians by mouth do not always demonstrate that truth by their deeds. This in no way means that I will agree to the tenet of the statement on the link you gave us that the spirit manifested at wicca meetings is from God. No one that carries the name of Christ to a lost world can make that claim and be true to scripture, true to reason or true to life.

Hi, thank u for your response to my question about Buddhism in my question. I want to ask you "why you decide not be a Buddhist". if u can email me that would be nice. chengooch@yahoo.com

as far as this question. I don't think anything. Buddha said that this world will eventually end in ~7000 years later and eventually will restart. so it is getting worse and worse but that's okay. we each one has our own karma and we have our own believe.

I believe keep working hard and when this life is over. I am going to the pureland. and I focus on making more difference but more on efforts than result. result would be nice but if I so focus on it then I might be so disappointed.

It is not easy to believe in Buddhism at first because we as human tend to want things what we want. Buddha teach us that to be happy is to be happy from your heart. is to not have the desire or attachement to wanting those things. then it will release you to be happy.

I felt peace even know I know world will be a diaster one day but we do the best we can, and continue to make difference as much as we can. take care. thanks a lot.

Not to mention "You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor." (Exodus 20:26). The Ninth Commandment also points to this; look how many Christians have the Ten Commandments posted in their front yards (plenty in southwest Missouri), not to mention wanting it posted in schools and claiming it is some sort of cornerstone for the US Government. Seems plenty of Christians don't quite know them, let alone expect everyone else to live up to them.

Christians and Wiccans are both theists, so it's not much of a leap to suppose that a Wiccan could wind up in heaven. The article says that Jesus made the statement about Pagans...believers, in other words. He commended the Pagan centurions for their faith. Although it wasn't faith in him or God, they were still deists.

I am an atheist, though. I have no faith in any god or gods, so I don't think that the article applies to me.

Thank you for posting this. It reminded me that, in spite of some of the other people who responded, there is hope for Christianity to survive cultural change.

One day Christians and Pagans will be at peace. This is a step in the right direction.
