I have an audio cassette that I'd like to use as a background music for a slideshow I'm going to create in iPhoto 05 using my PowerBook G4 Mac OS X 10.4 (Oct. 2005)
What hardware/software do I need for my project?
Thanks.

Hi
There is an internet resource for information about recording cassettes onto your PC at:
http://www.cassette2cd.co.uk/diy
There is also a download page with all the instructions in PDF format plus some free downloads for appropriate software:
http://www.cassette2cd.co.uk/downloads.php
or you could get a studio to do it for you...
Hope this helps

you will not have confidence what share audio cassettes I even have. i've got been a member of a music club for the reason that 1991, and it is been only the final 2-3 years that i've got offered CDs from them (whilst they first began offering a call. Now they only sell the CDs). i might say I even have close to between 500-900 (some nevertheless production unit-wrapped from as quickly as I ordered them God knows whilst). to incredibly knock you over, I nevertheless have close to a million,000 VINYL recordings on 40 5 rpm (a million music in keeping with factor) and 33 a million/3 rpm (albums) from the early 1960's forward. =D I actually have a Discman to hearken to my CDs, a "walkman" to hearken to my cassettes in inner maximum and a "strengthen field" radio to hearken to them as nicely, and--final yet not least--a stereo equipment with a turntable to hearken to my vinyl records, a twin cassette to play/record cassettes on an identical time (positioned the vinyl's music on a cassette, and so on), and AM/FM radio.

Well, get an old Sony Walkman (you know, the original ones that used to play cassettes) and use an audio cable with two male jacks to plug it directly into your iBook's audio input. Press play on the tape and use Garageband to record the audio.
