Does a credit card account expires after the card expires? After the card expires, am i still committed to to keep the credit account?

No, the account doesn't expire just because the card expires. You should get a new card in the mail. If you want to cancel the account, you need to contact the company. If you no longer want to charge to the account, you can tell them that & they can freeze the account for no more charges, but you still owe any debts.

You will likely get a new card in the mail with a new expiration date before the old card expires. However, if you fail to activate the new card (usually by calling a phone number included with the new card), the credit card company might assume that the card was lost in the mail or something and they could cancel your account. Also, they might assume that you just don't want the account anymore. So, if you want to keep the account open, just be sure to activate your new card when you get it.

No you don't have to keep any account but you still have to pay any money owed on the account ... and your better off notifying the credit card company that you'd like the account closed ...
it saves any problems from occurring since accounts don't automatically close immediately ... they usually just become
inactive.

They always just send me a new renewed card. You can cancel it or transfer it to a card with cheaper interest.
