There was a warning on TV not to long ago about a little dog suffocating from being in one of those blow dry cages at the groomer's. I think probably a hand-held hair dryer would be safe. My shih tzu love it when I use the blow dryer.

Yes it is safe. I worked in a pet salon and believe or not they put the dogs in a box that have a fan on the bottom that blows hot air to dry off the fur. I would rather use a blow dryer than that box any time! :)

Yes it's safe. He will be scared of the noise for the first couple times but he will get used to it. Make sure not to leave it in the same spot for too long because you could burn him. Run your hand/fingers through his fur to make sure you've dried to all and to make sure it's not too hot. Be sure to dry thoroughly as they can get colds easily.

Yes! But it is a bad idea to blow dry his hair every time.. his skin can become irritating to him and very dandruff like. Try towel drying sometimes, it takes longer, but it will keep his Lil heart happier!

absolutely. just make sure it's always on the lowest heat. and like the post said above me, run your hand through his hair while you are drying him so you know when it gets too hot.

Yes, as long as your dryer does not get too hot. If your dog seems really scared don't push it. If you terrorize it trying to do it yourself, a groomer may never be able to do it either.

It is not okay to blow dry your dog. A blow dryer blows hot air, and dogs can not handle heat as humans do. It is dangerous and can send them into hyperthermia. If you want more information, i would consult your veterinarian before you do it, especially since he is so small.
