Yep, once the film was exposed to light it has been ruined. If it's not the whole role, then what you can do is close the camera back up and go forward about 3 pictures and use up the rest of the film. The pictures already taken that were exposed to light will be ruined but the rest should turn out ok.

The film can't be exposed to light at all or it will cause it to become over exposed becasue of too much light. There are special lights that have to be used in order for film to be ok during the developing cycle. Even the slightest amount of light will cause the film to become over exposed.

If the roll wasn't pulled out all of the way some of the images might be salvaged. However if all of the film was exposed then there will be nothing. You can take it and get it developed if you think some of the exposures might be intact.

Depends, if she opened it in a slightly dim room it should be ok. I did that too on accident but it came out fine. But if she opened it outside in the sun or in a direct light sorry you are out of luck.
