I have at times considered myself an athiest... I don't believe that's correct I am open to the idea of God, but still wrestle with it. The heaven/hell dicotomy gives me particular trouble.

If God is omnipotent he knows the outcome of all things. He knows which of his "children" will make decisions that will (if you believe in the bible) end in descent into hell. Now I know with my own children I would do almost anything to protect them, so I chose a different view of God.
If God is omnipotent, then perhaps this isn't a do or die scenario, maybe this is a learning opportunity. God could forgive all of us.

I also don't believe in Jesus Christ as diety born of immaculate conception. He was a great man who began a revolt against many inequities he saw, but he was a man.
I don't believe in the bible. Old or New testament.
So where do I fall in the spectram?

And please no "your going to burn in hell" lectures. I have an earnest question... I don't need a sermon.

Well your not a Christian
Hell is the absence of God throughout eternity, the only thing that separates you from having a personal relationship with God is rejecting him. Which is the only sin that's not pardonable.
God cant except anyone into his presence that hasn't been redeemed and made perfect in the eyes of God.
So if your not protected by the blood of his son the only perfect person to ever lived your not worthy of spending eternity with him.
But like you said its your choice,
He was more than just a man though no other mans has been brought back to life that never died again at a later time.
Sometimes you have to hit your lowest or bottom before you start looking up.

I love your questions. I will try my best to explain why I believe the way that I do about Christianity. First of all it is not a religion. It is a personal relationship with God through Christ. You say that you would do almost anything to protect them. We however are not God. We are fallible humans trying to raise our children. Think of it this way- God did do everything to protect us- Being holy , He can not stand in the presence of sin- so He had to do something to be able to have a relationship with us. He wanted to protect us from hell, so much that He sent His Son to die for us so we could escape what we all deserve- eternally apart from God in hell. Salvation is a gift- it is for the whole world, however, like any gift you have to accept it. God could forgive us all- but only through shed blood. Grace through Christ is free, but it is not cheap. It cost Him His life.

Everything you really talked about is in the Bible....(Except Hell which I won't go into here), so really you need to find out WHY you don't believe in the Bible.

Remember just because there are organizations acting stupid and waving a Bible around doesn't nullify that the Bible is true and accurate. It means they are mostly in it for the money and are being used to mislead people.

Please email me so we can discuss this further.........
Thanks......and good question if you are sincere.

Are you asking to have a smorgasbord of religions served up to you on a platter for you so you can pick one that suits you, well my friend I believe it doesn't truly work like that even though many people have your attitude, The Bible says differently!
In his sermon on the Mount, Jesus said:"Go in through the narrow Gate;because broad and spacious is the road leading off into destruction, and many are the ones going in through it; whereas narrow is the gate and cramped the road leading off into life, and few are the ones finding it.(Matthew7:13,14) Because they fail to worship God in the right way, most persons are on the road to destruction. Only a few are on the road leading to life. So there are only two roads one going to destruction and he other is the one leading to life.and you have the choice before you which you will choose!

I believe you would be called an agnostic. How could Jesus be a good man? He constantly claimed to be God. He hadto be either what he claimed to be, a madman, or was a blaphmous fiend

John 20:29
Jesus said to Thomas, "You believe because you've seen me. Blessed are those who haven't seen me but believe.

John 3:16
For God loved the world this way: He gave his only Son so that everyone who believes in him will not die but will have eternal life.

You might be a Pantheist if you perceive the entire Universe and absolutely everything in it to be God
