I'm not talking about bad breath in the mornings, but about a wierd taste that only the person himself tastes. Did you notice this funky taste in your mouth when you wake up, espicially from an unintentional short nap? What causes it??

I do NOT mean morning breath. I'm talking about your own saliva tasting weird for about 15 minutes (or till you eat something) after waking up from a short nap.
Oh, and stop telling me not to worry, I'm not. Just curious.

It's the taste of bacteria that gathers in your mouth, mostly on your tongue, when you sleep.

omg the taste is called morning breath. Bad breath is often caused by improper dental care and the bacteria that builds up in your mouth when you don't follow a dental routine. It's important to brush your teeth frequently, at least twice a day or after every meal, and floss your teeth daily. When you brush your teeth, take time to brush your tongue as well — this helps clean your breath. And, make sure you try brushing and flossing before you go to bed to see if that helps your morning breath.

Its called transient bad breath. Its caused by things like a dry mouth or hunger. I suppose short naps result in a dry mouth (at least for me) which is probably why you get that strange taste

you're probable drowsing along with your mouth open. I do this alot, because of the fact I surely have respiration issues, and can't breath by way of my nostril as quickly as I lay down that properly. I shop a bottle of water next to me so while ever I awaken throughout the night I merely take a drink, then i'm high quality.

A change of tooth past for cleaning the teeth before going to sleep may help change the situation.

the sand man takes a dump in there after he sprinkles dirt in your eyes? LOL No actually I think it is from sleeping with your mouth open and that is the aftertaste of a dried up mouth.

Could be what you ate, or just the general smell of your mouth.
