I have found..what I think was a toe nail in my food. And I simply cannot finish a meal if I find a hair in it. One Christmas, I thought I would save myself the bother of all that cooking, so I treated myself and my clan to a meal in our local pub. The soup was ok....you cant really go wrong with that can you? The main course was horrendous! The potatoes were hard in the middle, the meat was as tough as hob nailed boots, and the veg was overcooked beyond belief....as for the gravy, you dont want to know honey!!! We didnt hang around for the desert. We went straight home and had fish and chips for Christmas dinner!!!! The upshot of it was, I had already paid for the meal beforehand, so I wrote a letter to the company. They had the gall to send me a limp apology letter with......get this........money off vouchers for my next visit?????? I sent a letter by return of post and told them in no uncertain terms that they refund my money or they would be hearing from my solicitors. Guess what?? Money refunded in full! It did not compensate for the anti climax of an expected great Christmas meal, and the alternative fish and chips. But there you go, life is full of experiences isnt it? I certainly wont ever pay for a meal beforehand ever again. :o)

I can remember at school I bought a packet of crisps from the little tuck shop that we had at break. I can remember just walking round eating these crisps when I reached into the bag and found this huge piece of potato which was all knobbly and burnt and so hard that when I dropped it made a thud noise on concrete. I sent it to the company who gave me £10 in vouchers and a letter of apology from the manager saying that it was probably a piece of potato which got stuck on the oven and then got into the bag. Ewwwwww....I haven't been so keen on that flavour of crisps for a long time.

I was in the Hart House Cafeteria (University of Toronto) for a Xmas buffet. I went up and filled my plate with a salad and dressing and then returned to the table to eat it. When I took a forkful and was about to put it in my mouth, I found a cockroach on the end of my fork!
I went to the Kitchen Supervisor with the "evidence" in hand and he merely shrugged. I asked for a refund but wasn't given one. I didn't eat anything that day or the next. Needless to say, I never went back a second time.

A good few years ago when I was around 14years old I used to love making those 'Birds Trifles' - I was in the middle of making one, (I was mixing the custard) when my cat started meowing as she wanted to be fed, so I took out her cat meat, spooned some in her bowl and carryed on mixing the custard, unfortunately I absent mindedly used the same spoon to mix the custard that I had just used for the cat meat!!! I never ate any of that trifle but my sisters LOVED it!!!!!!!
I also once got a mcdonalds and found 2 huge bites taken out of my burger - totally disgusting!!!! I drove back down to the drive thru - argued it out with the manager for about 15mins who insisted that it was 'impossible' but finally gave me a refund as a huge queue of cars was forming as I refused to move my car until I had had a full refund of the ENTIRE meal I had just ordered (cheeky beggar only wanted to refund the big mac, which after he practically told me I was a liar I was NOT accepting!!!!)

Worst meal? When I took a customer out to lunch. He decided where we would go. Fine! Itook him there. A seafood restaurant in west London..Well, we had a great starter, and then the main course came - baby octopus! I started chewing on one of the tentacles! Like chewing a pencil rubber, only with no taste. When he asked me what it was like, and had to say "nice , but a bit chewy!" Well, he eat his and I left mine! Good luck!!

I once found a cockroach in my rice at a mexican restaurant in mexico.
Bleh! I almost ate it too.
Another incident:
I had been looking for those microwavable chicken strips because they are so easy and fast to prepare. Well, that time, i forgot to look at weather it was actualy microwavable or not. I didnt realize it was raw and supposed to be baked untill after i microwaved it without looking at the directions and taking a huge chunk of it. Disguisting.

A Ponderosa salad bar...wet folded up napkin in my very first (and last) bite.
Not maybe two weeks ago, my sister went to the store to buy a box of that instant cop of soup stuff. She opened the bag and it was loaded with maggots! I tried to get her to eat them anyway (like stuff I did to her when we were kids) but she wasn't biting!
