contact rules means she should return my neice on the arranged date not change it to suit herself. she was placed in my custody by social workers as the mother has a drink problem but she rings and demands visitation whenever she wants and i have to pay for the three hour journey each time. help i need to know where i stand and what are my rights

go exactly by the rules, if she fails to abide by the rules then you must contact the judge or social worker to set her straight. this could also land you in a lot of trouble for allowing her to continue this behavior. the order (or rules) were set in place for your neices' safety. what if something were to happen to her because the rules were not followed? would you want that on your conscience?

first check with the contract and see what it says after that's call her social worker and let her know what is going on and maybe she can help you know where you stand but from what i would think you should only have to do what the court ordered and nothing more and the fact that you do is something the mom should be grateful for!

you might want to stand up and say something but you dont want to sound like you are taking her daughter from her. If it get out of control you might want to go to a court and state yor peace. or have the schedule rearranged.
