i was sitting on my couch and glanced over at my puppy sleeping next to me and saw a little white thing by her butt whole! is it a tape worm and what should i do! i dont really have money to bring her to the vet right now!

yes it is a tape worm. The only way to treat tape worms is to take her to the vet to get medication. You can call around to different vets, explain what you saw, and ask how much it will be for an exam and medication. Good Luck, i hope this helps.

you can tell a puppy has tape worms if you see little tiny white rice looking things near her back side. if you see tiny rice like flakes then probably has tape worms.

You can get over the counter worm medacation. You can buy it at any store i get mine at Wal-Mart. Read the backs of the worm medacation to see what kinds of worms it treats. My vet told me that this is fine and My dogs are healthy. I give it to them every couple of months and its inexpensive.

If it looked like a piece of rice then it is tapeworms. They get them from fleas. You can get a dewormer at the pet store for tapeworm only(praziquantel) then you will also need to get your dog on a flea preventative.

buy a dewormer from pet shop, Price quite ok, Around 5 bucks for 2 tablets.

Could be. Check her poop when she goes. I dont think the medicine for tapeworms is very expensive though...
