A whole bunch of fundies were upset
"The corporate actions that triggered the protests were little different from those taken by scores of major companies in recent years — Wal-Mart paid $25,000 this summer to become a member of the National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce and donated $60,000 to Out and Equal, which promotes gay-rights advances in the workplace. "
God forbid....

Wal-Mart dosen't want the union involved in their buisness, for obvious reasons, The union wants union dues to squander on their agendas and political ideas. The people who work there are actually pretty happy working there. It's gangster- mafia indused and abused agenda, that is fueling the dispute.

They have sweatshop workers in other counties make their goods, which takes jobs away from Americans and exploits those other poeple because they only pay them like 2 cents a day.
They've been known to treat their employees horrendously, like the guy who had a heart attack when he had been locked inside during the overnight shift and couldn't get help.

yes, some questions are miscategorized.
When I worked there, they kept me at 38-39 hours so they were basically getting full time out of me without paying any benefits. The treatment of their workers is a big thing. Also pushing out small businesses is another reason people don't like Walmart.

Tore down NorthCross Mall in Austin to build one there. Oh well NorthCross was down the drain anyways. I'll miss Guitar Center though.
