I think people shop there cuz they think they are saving a lot of money by doing it. I have noticed now that a lot of other stores are competing with their prices knowing that Wal-Mart does get a lot of buisness. Now, you really don't save that much money by shopping there even though you may have at one point in time. I figured out that when I buy the same things at Target instead of Wal-Mart, I may only be spending $1-$5 more and it's really not worth driving to walmart to save that small amount.

I have actually stopped shopping at Wal-Mart now because the customer service and quality of the items have dropped so much recently. I would rather spend the extra few dollars to go somewhere else knowing that I will get better quality items and a whole lot better service there. It is sad that it has come to the fact that Wal-Mart is driving other good buisnesses out of town or out of buisness all together.

People that shop at Wal Mart, they are giving someone a job, but this does not make up for the thousands of small locally owned businesses that have to shutdown when Walmart comes to town, this also doesn't make up for the terrible wages Walmart pays their employees and the 1/2 assed health insurance, Basically people that shop there do not care. In China Walmart has to have unions , isn't that funny.

Low prices.

Their prices are low because they have buying power to demand almost 100% of various manufacteror's product. Once they have total buying control of the manufacturor, they demand lower prices, which means the factory has to cut jobs. Eventually, the factory will be forced to close, because it cannot afford to make its products at the price Walmart, it's exclusive buyer, demands. Then Walmart buys from China, where there is no human rights regulation and you can make products with child slave labor.

That why you save two dollars at Walmart. I really suggest you read some more about Walmart. Just google a few articles or even find a book.

Do you all think Walmart is the only company that gets their stuff from china and over seas? NO, All stores does even the little tags that have made in America is sewn on overseas. I live on the coast where chicken and Banana's are shipped in from China because we made a deal with China, we send them beef they will send us stuff, get for real guys. Walmart is not the only company doing this. If you want to boycottt you will have to boycot every store there is.

Walmart has geared itself towards praying on the poor and breeding poverty and crime in certain areas. This is what is said about Walmart with some convincing evidence to back it up. So people suffer from things like loss of jobs, benefits, lower wages lower property value. To name a few. A marketing scheme of sort, where the needy guy saves one dollar and ends up paying ten latter.

I shop there only if they have something I cannot find easily elsewhere, or they have a very good sale on something I need. Otherwise, I go to Target-----I may pay a little bit more, but, I feel I am not supporting Wal-Mart, and that is good.

Other people who shop there--I do not know their reasoning for shopping there.

Some of us po' country folk don't have much choice, seein' as how our small towns limit us in such things. But in all seriousness, I shop there for the convenience and the prices. We have a supercenter, which means that my family can get haircuts, eye exams, prescriptions, groceries, and do our regular shopping in one stop. I don't drive, this makes life so much easier. Their prices are the lowest in my town, and now my family and others with lower incomes can have some of the things that people with higher incomes have. The savings on everyday items mean we can enjoy a movie or dinner out on occasion. I rarely shop anywhere else.

This is exactly why I stopped shopping at Wal Mart just before Christmas. I am paying more for my groceries than I used to at Wal Mart, but at least I am not funding their irresponsibility. The grocer I am giving money to now may be doing evil things with the profits from my purchases, but at least they aren't openly funding radical homosexual activists and doing it proudly. It costs more, but my conscience is clear. I emailed Wal Mart to tell them why I would not be buying from them anymore. They hardly care, but again my conscience is clear and I've done what I can do, short of picketting outside.

because it is still convenient. I shop there to save time. Target doesn't have as many groceries, and Kroger doesn't have as many non-grocery items. I shop at the other 2 places if I only need one category of items.

When you are low on time, have a baby who hates the car, or kids who don't travel well, you go on as few errands as possible. I don't know what this has to do with religion, though.

Its a circle that comes around eventually. I do shop there though, they got everything. Checkout the Southpark episode "Walmart this way"

Dog sneeze has it right. I work for a company that sells to walmart and we are their bit#h. We give them what they want. We make food so we probably wont be outsourced though.
