If your video camera and computer both have a firewire connection, it's just a matter of acquiring a cable and video editing software. Many of the newer mini-DV camcorders have a firewire connection and others have a power supply/base adapter that has both firewire and analog (yellow video and red/white audio cable) connections. There are numerous devices that will allow you to connect your camcorder to computer via USB ports but for best video quality try to get one that has S-Video connectons and now analog. A good start would be to read the owners manual for your camera to find all the connections on the unit; often they have weather resistant rubber caps that may render them not easily seen when inspecting the outside of the camera.

Are you saying that your computer does not have facilities for playing a mini-disc? I think you will find it does. The DVD drawer has two indentations, on for normal sized discs and one for mini-discs. There is no specific or dedicated player for mini discs
